A scooter for adults? WHOA!

by fourmaster , Jul 11 '01
Pros: great craftsmanship, fast, bid enough for adults
Cons: PRICEY!!!

A few months ago, I ran into one of my friends, riding a Xootr. At the time, I thought that the scooter was just another one of those Razor type things that every nine year old in my neighborhood rides. "What the heck was he doing, trying to ruin...

Xootr Scooters ROCK

by sharpie888 , Feb 01 '08
Pros: Great Fun, Folds Down, Lightweight
Cons: Cost $300, attracts attention when you ride it.
A Xootr is an Adult Sized Kick Scooter built from Aircraft grade materials. It cost about $300.00 and is AMAZINGLY Fun to ride. These things are BEAUTIFUL works of art. It's also the BEST kick scooter ever made. The Xootr is as easy as walking ...

Xootr - bigger, better, pricier than the Razor

by jshukis , Sep 16 '00
Pros: high quality, great rolling, nice deck size
Cons: Costs the same as 3.9 Razor scooters
If you are tempted to buy a Razor or Razor clone scooter for someone over twelve years old then stop. Read this first. If you still buy a Razor (and you might do just that) it will only be because of the price difference.

Micro scooters like...

Xootr Street: Hard 2 Beat

by pax95 , Oct 15 '00
Pros: excellent craftsmanship, durable, silky smooth ride
Cons: a tad pricey, ineffective rear brake, dangerous when riding in wet conditions (but so is unsafe sex--BE SAFE!!)
This won't be long-winded...I just want to sing this thing's praises. I commute from Embarcadero BART station to my office, about a mile and change. Normally it used to take 10-12 minutes to cover that distance, but the Xootr Street I bought eats it up...

Yes, it's $100 cooler than a Cruz

by howardh , Feb 06 '01
Pros: Stable, fast, smooth, and FUN!
Cons: Cost
I didn't think that I would be writing a second Xootr review, but here it is. I suppose I could just copy and paste large chunks from my Cruz review(http://howardh.epinions.com/kifm-review-17E6-8AE8794-39DD2137-prod1), but that wouldn't be any...

If you've got the cash, it's the best (besides the comp)

by aschapm , Jan 27 '01
Pros: Big. Stable. Fast. Comfortable. Pretty. Light.
Cons: Compared to other scooters, it's pretty pricey.
For anyone who ever wanted a scooter but never found one that felt right, this scooter is the best you can do. It glides as smoothly as a cloud, and folds up to be slung over your back when you're not riding it. The whole thing is made out of...

Xootr Street - My honest opinion

by llwalw , Oct 13 '00
Pros: Fastest, most stable scooter period!
Cons: None
I was looking for the best scooter in the market. I heard great things about the razor line and also the K2 Kickboard. I purchased a Razor for my son to use and he loves it. I tried it too and fell in love with it also until I ate the pavement with it...

Xootr Scooter

by krazeeej23 , Nov 08 '00
Pros: Fun, Nice Design,
Cons: Expensive
This toy was recently purchased by my friend for their son's birthday. This is a very attractive scooter with a new age design. Their kid loved it and I see him riding by every day. Now, I don't know what the big deal is with the new scooter phase but...

Everyone on campus is looking at me haha

by james707 , Aug 21 '06
Pros: Very light, portable, wheels are tough, looks badass, novelty will get you attention from everyone.
Cons: Speed is hindered by bumps or rocks, every kid will want to be your friend.
I bought a Xootr MG last week. It took them 6 days to deliver it. They had me anxious the whole week. When I finally got it and opened the box, I heard choir boys in my head singing. It was like I had the holy grail in front of me. There were little ...

Disabled Young Adult Loves His XOOTR!

by audreykerzner , Jun 05 '09
Pros: Excellent scooters!
Excellent Customer Service, great communication!
Cons: Are XOOTR scooters meant to last? All my son does is cruise on his.
Several years ago I purchased our first XOOTR for my autistic 19-year old son.  My son had long outgrown his Razor, but because he enjoys scootering so much and its something he can do independently (on our front sidewalk), I researched on-line and ...

Love our Xootrs
by goingstrong ,Nov 28 '06
Pros: Strong, fast, and seductive.
Cons: A few parts will rust.
The wife and I have had three Xootrs, having sold one to a 70 year old friend who loved it at first sight. Even my 60 year old sister who hates exercise gets on this without urging. Do get the aluminum deck, although I can't think of any reason to reject the plywood deck if you can get one for a good price, say on eBay. You also want the rear "fender brake." The front brake alone just doesn't feel all that safe. On my first model I tried using my shoe for a rear brake and I was wearing out shoes damned fast. When you ride a sidewalk with cracks, it is jarring, so you are trading efficiency and speed for comfort, but I will take this anyday over big balloon tires that would work you to death. Sometimes I get on mine and see how far I can go with one push, and it can be a long, long ways on level ground.

Great products, great customer service
by trinsf ,Jun 29 '05
Pros: Great scooter, sized for adults, wonderful customer service
Cons: Heavier than tiny scooters.
I love these scooters, and I love this company. I bought a Xootr Street for my son for Christmas 2003, to replace a smaller scooter he was outgrowing. Since then, his Xootr has been his daily companion, the one thing he never leaves the house with. He's 16 now, but he has no interest in driving, because the Xootr gets him everywhere he wants to go.

But, you can read more about the specifics of the product in other reviews. For me, what *really* stands out about the Xootr is the company behind it and the customer service they provide. I've purchased many things online over the years, and I've worked customer service myself, and I have to tell you, these guys set the standard other companies can only aspire to. It's not that they have a fancy website or "Live Support" or anything like that. It's that the product is backed by real people, who send real email. The value they place on customers is clear in every thing they do.

Perfect urban transport
by xootrman ,Nov 29 '05
Pros: An absolutely wonderful product!
Cons: maybe a future version will have v-brakes. Hopefully retrofittable.
Perfect urban transport for any city.

It cuts my walk time to/from the train stations by half. Same when shopping, returning with quite heavy shopping bags hanging on the handle. The accessibility is unbelievable - you don't have to lock/unlock in the bike room, then in the street - you just pin-out, fold, pin-in, hang xootr on shoulder, all while walking! and in you go - to grocery, deli, book/video-store.

And not counting the Sunday fun in the park!

Quality products are expensive, and so should they be. I didn't hear complaints about iPods...

Not Just For Kids
by ted3929 ,Jul 27 '06
Pros: Quick delivery, high quality, rolls forever
Cons: None
During the most recent 06 heat wave I found going on long walks during the day a sweaty experience to say the least. I owned a Go-Ped before but that thing required two good pushes to make it past ten feet and quality control was really suspect.

I got the Xootr MG and was really shocked when it arrived (pleasantly, that is). 1) It arrived about 4 days after I ordered it and 2)the thing came pre-assembled with absolutely nothing to fiddle with.

Right out of the box I nearly ran into my garage wall when I pushed off and found myself clipping along faster than most bikes will go. Going downhill is a thrill to say the least. Oh, and remember I'm 230 pounds. This thing doesn't even bend under my weight.

Not only does it roll forever it has better ride quality than my earlier Go-Ped with solid rubber wheels.

Sure, you'll pay $200 to get one, but it's worth the money for the quality and service you get.

Xootr MG
by bklejak ,Mar 06 '07
Pros: The large Wheels, The bearings (fast and smooth),Large deck
Cons: There is none!
The Xootr MG is the latest model. It has a magnesium deck, which is lighter than aluminum and stronger. This is a really great scooter. From the reviews I had read, the prices have come down considerably. I paid $209 and that included the finder kit. The base model would be $199. Not only do they make the world's finest scooter but they also have excellent customer service. When I received mine from UPS there was a problem with the hand break (it didn't seat back into position after you squeezed it). I emailed them and they immediately contacted UPS to come to my house and pick up the scooter. They paid for all the shipping and I had a new one in less than 2 weeks. When I got my new one the break worked great. If you want to get a scooter that is miles above the razor (I have 3 razors by the way), then this is the way to go.
