Pros: Size, weight, noise, efficiency, runs electronics. Cons: More expensive than others with similar capacity.
I purchased this generator on-line while watching Hurricane Isabel charging toward my house on the Weather Channel. I figured that if I bought it, I wouldn't need it. Wrong. We lost power for almost a week and this little guy kept us out of the dark, w ...
Pros: light weight--my wife can move it;
low fuel use;
incredible power Cons: none--worth every penny of the $1100 I paid
I purchased the generator last year. Now that two hurricane seasons have hit south Florida I can not stess the importance of having a quality generator --like this one. Here is the list of what I powered for almost two weeks with it--and I mean all at the same time for TWO WEEKS!! 2 TV's (20" and 9"), 4 lights, full size upright freezer, full size refrigerator, 2 fans and an X-Box game system. I had several friends that told me I was crazy for spending $1100 for a 2800 watt generator---well that was until my friends $500 5500 watt generator died within a day of use and another friends 6500 watt generator was not able to run as much as my 2800. If you need it or might need it buy it.
Pros: Light for its capacity, easy on fuel, quiet. Cons: More expensive than some units of equal capacity, but you get what you pay for.
Amazing as it seems, once you buy a generator you do not seem to lose power ever again!!! As shortsighted as this statement may seem, this has been my experience to-date. However, undaunted I still praise the utility of the Yamaha EF2800i. i bought the generator during the last lot of power cuts some six months ago and I have run the generator on a number of occasions and I am yet to empty the tank. The unit puts out an amazing amount of power for it size and I have tested it (all at the same time) on my grey-water pump, refrigerator, Foxtel, television, and a number of lights without any significant pressure placed on the generator. I can only say that I am completely satisfied with the performance of this generator so far and dare I say it, I am ready for the next power outage without any concern what so ever.

Pros: Great performance for the price! Cons: The only problem that I have had, is the overload light vibrated loose.
I bought this generator instead of a Honda at Half the price. During last years Hurricanes it powered my house, one window 6000BTU AC unit. one 36" TV, Refrigerator, chest freezer, and about 6 lights. After a week I got my electricity turned on I lent it to a freind who ran the same items for a month, with out a hitch! This has been one of the better buys I have ever made!
