Pros: Price, comfort, wet traction. Cons: They didn't come on the car.
I agonize over tire purchases. The OEM tires on my 2006 Infiniti G35X were so bad I started researching literally YEARS prior to my purchase. When the time finally came (with almost 50,000 miles on those dastardly tires!), I ordered a set of ...
Pros: Handling, Wet traction, Smooth Ride Cons: Fast treadwear!! Not for snow!
I bought a set of Avid V4 tires in a 215/55R16 for my Acura Legend. I got them from TireRack.com for only $82 per tire. Incidentally, I would give the TireRack 5 stars, I buy all my tires there and save a ton.
Pros: Long Tread Life
Great Handling
Quiet Cons: Rarely in stock at most tire shops
We just purchased a set of Yokohama Avid V4s Tire in size 215/55R16 for our 2003 Saab 9-5 Linear Sedan. We replaced the factory Michelin MXV4 V Rated tires, which we got about 40,000 miles use. The Yokohama tires are amazing. First off, I never ...
Pros: cheap in the short term - but, I suppose, you get what you pay for! Cons: a very expensive lesson
I purchased 4 Yokohama AVID V4S tires for my Toyota RAV4 in December 2007 from tirerack.com. In November 2008, after approximately 15,000 miles, I had to throw them out due to unreasonable tread wear. Apparently I was fooled by all of the positive ...
Pros: Great cornering and road feel even on wet roads. Cons: I actually don't have any yet..knock on wood!!
I replaced the OE Turanza tires on my 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE with the Avid V'4s and have been extremely happy so far. The tread wear appears to be fine after approximately 20,000 miles and I enjoy the way the tires handle the road. Very good traction even on wet surfaces and a fairly rigid well planted feel when cornering. These tires are night and day as compared the the original Turanza's and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Great, while they lasted... by bigboomer ,Oct 16 '07
Pros: excellent handling when new Cons: horrible wear, and God help if a blowout.
Purchased in Dec 2006, for 2003 Crown Vic. (225/60-16). First "blowout" at 75MPH in February, no indication why on carcass. Second blowout two months later, again, no indication of damage (this time through the treads). Now only 23K miles on the original two, and the set are almsot worn out (hydro like crazy at 50 and up...What a thrill ride!!). When they were NEW, it seemed they were better than Pirelli p6000, Michelin X-1's. Couldn't break them loose. Won't touch a YoKo ever again.....
Pros: good traction, corning, handling, nothing you can complain for a performance tire Cons: Dangerous on SNOW, don't expect quiet ride
I have this tires on my 97 Maxima SE for almost 4 years. It is about time to get a new set and time write something about the rubber.
The thread life is strangely good for a tire with more than 55K miles on it. Maybe I am not crazy about corning and petal to the floor things.
The riding quality became an issue after 10k miles or so, as many reviews on the web. It is very loud at 70mph.
Avid V4 on Snow, could be very scary. Almost no traction or whatsoever braking power on snow.
Poor thing is when I am out to shop a replacement of the good old Avid V4, there is no V4 around anymore. The new one called Avid V4s. See if I got this tires and I will write another review.
