Pros: All around good performance Cons: Balance and Wear issues outside of my liking
I was an avid fan of the BF Goodrich All Terrain TA(not the KO never had them). I liked them for their all around good traction that never left me stuck. That was a few trucks ago. I have not had a 4x4 again until recently. My 2000 F150 7700 (a 3/4 to ...
Pros: Awesome Wet/Dry traction, incredibly rugged & tough. Tears through sand/dirt like butter. Very good handling. Cons: Extremely loud. Tread wears down fast, requires frequent tire rotation. Rough ride.
My 1997 Ford F150 truck was in need for a new set of tires.
I drove down to the local tire shop, and i was originally interested in the (BF Goodrich A/T's) in a size of (265/75/16) (31 inch) tires. The BFG's were approximately 55 dollars more each...
Pros: Great price, have Yokohama Aegis LS4 on minivan. Came this close to buying. Cons: UTQG wear rating 360 BB. Only $3 cheaper than Toyo Open Country A/T.
I came very close to buying Geolander A/T P255/70R16 for my Ford Expedition. I have Aegis LS4 tires on the minivan and had Yoko's on my old Isuzu Trooper (1988). My local tire guy had them mounted/balance/tirestem/disposal for $105 ea. However ... I...
Pros: Great combination of on-road smoothness and off-road capability. Cons: Stiffer than most OEM stock tires
I recently ditched a set of General Grabbers that came stock on my 2001 Nissan Xterra 4x4 in favor of these Geolandar AT+II tires. Wow! What a difference. Where the other tires would hydroplane at the slightest drop of rain, the Geolandars really grip...
Pros: I can't think of any now. Cons: They simply wear out too quickly compared to their competition.
I purchased my Dodge Durango new in 1998. It came equipped with Goodyear tires that lasted 37k. I replaced them with Michelins that lasted 55k. Then, I was looking for a new set of tires and decided to check the internet for opinions, and some of the ...
Pros: Looks, early wet traction, off-road capability with AT traits. Cons: Low tread life, uneven wear, poor handling in wet conditions as tires age.
Put 4 31x10.5x15 tires on my Jeep Cherokee. Great looks, awesome handling out of the box, and very strong as an AT for off-road use. Tires had amazing wet/snow traction and quiet road manners. Now that I have a little more than 25,000 miles on them, they are loud, and slick on pavement wet or dry. Even with accurate regular rotations, alignment and solid shocks, the tires began to wear unevenly, and lost their factory molded lug sipes quickly. The tires still perform well on DRY rock and gravel off road, but slip quickly in mud, snow and rain.
Pros: look great, quiet, good performing tread pattern, very durable. Cons: Tiny hard to read plackard.
I was fortunate to purchase a '95 GMC Sierra ext. cab 4X4 that came with a set of 285/75/R16 Yoko Geolander A/T II's on the stock rims. So far I have encountered mud holes, creek beads, and rocky terrain and these tires performed flawlessly at standard pressure.
It's a quiet tire that is excellent in snow and rain too. While yokohama tires may not be widely popular with die-hard name-brand fans, the product speaks volumes with regard to quality, durability, and performance. Why pay for a name? I Highly recommend a set.
Installed set of 4 on GMC Sierra Z71. Great pavement/highway/city handling, QUITE and SURE-FOOTED, no slip, wet or dry. Off-road good in most conditions, not for deep sand or mud, ice Etc., though handles well in snow. I reccomend tire without hesitation!
I have 31 10.50 15s on my Blazer for 5yrs and many miles. They have wore down faster than I'd hope. I have put them through everything! I Had BFs ATs and found them only to be good in sand and light snow. The Yokohamas have been great on and offroad.I was really happy on how they go through mud and cleaned out pretty good, not great but good for a AT tire. Not the greatest on ice, and since the tread is wore down not that great in the deeper snow, but thats to be expected. I wish they had better sidewall appearance and tread. They look a bit to street tire. And I have cuts on the sides that on other ATs are not so bad because the others have a little more sidewall tread. Also not shure what to think about the premature age cracking between the treads.
Pros: Good traction in the rian. Cons: Terrible in the snow. Terrible tire life. Loud tire. Rough ride.
Just replaced a set that I purchased 18 month's ago that were on a 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor. After 21,000 miles Discount Tire check tread depth and all four tires were at 4/32. Would not recommend this tire for this vehicle ever.
Pros: Unbelievable for the price. Cons: Haven't found one.
I have a 2005 silverado with a duramax. They are not good off road due to thier wieght. Since I put the Geolanders on I have gone through rain, snow, wet clay up to my bumpers, mud, and sand. Nothing seems to stop these tires. They are 285/75 on my stock rim. They are a softer tire but I have rotated them every 4000 miles as recommended. I have 15,000 miles on them and they still look brand new. I will be buying them again!, especially for the price.
