Pros: Good cast. Plot had potential. Some entertaining moments. Cons: Not that funny. Slow places. One character was very hard to like.
I have seen and enjoyed several of Kate Hudsons movies as well as several of Owen Wilsons. I like both of them so I was interested in seeing You, Me and Dupree after I first heard about it a few months ago. Since then, I have ...
Pros: Hudson is cute Cons: terrible script, jokes blown in previews, Owen Wilson teamed with Matt Dillon, tedious
To answer the most obvious question about this film, I will address that all of the funny moments were indeed spoiled in the trailers for You, Me, and Dupree. The film itself is about a newly married couple played by Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon, ...
Pros: Lance Armstrong cameos Cons: The DVD extras has a hilarious spoof trailer
You, Me, and Dupree stars Matt Dillon and Kate Hudson as newlyweds who let their friend, played by Owen Wilson, crash at their house for a little too long. I enjoyed this movie, though it wasn’t as hilarious as I expected it to be. Michael Douglas ...
Pros: Simple romantic comedy, all-star cast. Cons: 1 hour and 50 minute run
Universal Studios, You, Me and Dupree (2006) begins with a beautiful Hawaiian beach scene where the soon to be married Carl Peterson (Matt Dillon) and Molly Thompson (Kate Hudson) enjoy themselves. Carl is caressing Molly's feet in their cabana ...
Pros: A few funny moments, Seth Rogen at times Cons: unfunny, ridiculous, Owen can't do it all himself
Everyone has that friend or family member, or at least did at some point in their lives, who drives you crazy. He is always putting you out, making unreasonable demands on your time or asking things of you that you would never think to ask of him. ...
Pros: Owen Wilson, Matt Dillon, Michael Douglas Cons: Almost everything
Have you ever sort of had a crush on someone, but never pursued it because you just knew the reality would never live up to your fantasy? Well, "You, Me and Dupree" was something like that for me. This was a film that had some of the best comedic ...
Pros: Seth Rogan character is funny, Kate Hudson is well... Kate Hudson :) Cons: Not believable and worse for a comedy, not funny.
You, Me and Dupree is the story of Carl (Matt Dillon) and his newlywed wife Molly (Kate Hudson), and their first few weeks are turned upside down by the addition to the household of Randolph Dupree (Owen Wilson). Dupree, as he is referred to most ...
Pros: some pretty funny bits Cons: dull in the middle, choppy acting, overall not very funny
The previews for You, Me and Dupree showed a lighthearted and fun romantic comedy about a newly wed couple who end up harboring a houseguest directly after their wedding who doesn't work out so well. Unfortunately, the previews showed pretty much ...
Pros: Owen Wilson and Matt Dillon, Story plot Cons: Dupree on the couch
Ok, the movie has just come out on November 21, 2006. This movie has both comical and serious moments. When I watched this movie, I was actually able to get into it. If you have ever had that one friend, that seems to just end up doing everything wrong, ...
Pros: comedy that will make you squirm, Michael Douglas' performance. Cons: you have to watch the whole thing to enjoy it.
Normally, I wouldn't even bother watching this movie, but Boredom led me to it. From the previews I knew it was going to be some movie about a newly married couple, Kate Hudson & Matt Dillion, having to deal with the husband's childhood buddy, Dupree, ...
Pros: All Star Cast, Incredible Performance by the Actors, Interesting StoryLine Cons: Poor Writing, Relatively Boring Development of Storyline, etc.
Storyline: This is a movie about a happy couple, Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon, about to embark on their marriage and their entire lives together. Obviously, things are not that simple. The character played by Matt Dillon actually works for his ...
I am no great fan of any of the principles in this movie (Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson, or Owen Wilson), so that is why You, Me & Depree got relegated to a weekend viewing slot for me. Based solely on the previews of the movie, it was evident to me that You, Me & Depree would be somewhat formulaic and predictable. I was right. I have seen so many of these types of movies that the genre fails for really entertain me.
And while it is always delightful to see dear Kate in her formfitting underwear (I could have done without the braless t-shirt shots), there is little to recommend You, Me & Dupree. Owen Wilson, a man who apparently has forgotten what a comb is, is lovable enough as Dupree, but Dillon is flat and annoying, and Michael Douglas looks really old. Skip You, Me & Depree, unless of course it is raining really hard outside and your cable/satellite goes out.
You, Me, and Dupree - Entertaining, Decent Movie by dumpling2002 ,Mar 17 '07
Pros: Cast Cons: Lack of surprises and suspense
I didn't think this movie was award-winning, but it wasn't terrible. The only real problem I had with the movie was that there was really no surprises in this movie. It was pretty straight forward. There were some occasionally funny moments, although they were extremely eccentric and hard to believe. It did keep my attention for the whole movie. Kate Hudson played a good, believable role, and I thought it was cast appropriately. The plot is simple - a couple gets married, deals with a live-in obnoxious friend, have a fight, make up, and the end.
