Pros: Solid flavor and great body Cons: Less complex and intriguing than others
Who Says That Royalty Is Dead?
Once a month, my company continues the beautiful and honorable tradition of the Firmwide Happy Hour. A chance for all of us to unwind and socialize with those colleagues we barely ever see anymore, it’s...
Pros: One of a very few mainstream beers with real hops; price. Cons: That little whiff of skonk; green glass; regional availability.
A Lager in sheep's clothing; pale but powerful.
This beer is a lying SOB. It's not an ale at all, it's a lager, just like everything else brewed at Yuengling [say "YING-ling"]. To the best of my knowledge, no one at the brewery knows...
The Yuengling Lord Chesterfield Ale is a long name for a beer with the qualities of tasting great and smelling like a skunk has died in the glass. Now don't get me wrong, I DO like this beer, its just a bit off-putting to order a wonderful pizza and...
Pros: Very light, hoppy flavor Cons: Not for you if you don't like your beer a little bitter.
In the area I currently reside, you can't find many micro brews what so ever. Luckily for me I found Yuengling Lord Chesterfield Ale. With a very crisp clean flavor that reminds me of the Pale Ales and IPAs that were so prevalent in the Northwest....
Pros: Real beer taste! Cons: The bottles are too small! LOL
If you are in the Philly area and don't know Yeungling, you must be one of those Bud only people. Why I am not sure. If you want a local beer and not just fizzy water Yeungling is the way to go! Chesterfield is one of thier best to start with. It...
Given the controversy over the presidential election, it is only fitting that I write a review on a brewery that was around before the last time we faced an electoral college overturning a popular vote. Yuengling started business in 1829 just...
Pros: loved by lite beer drinkers and fullbodied beer lovers alike Cons: none come to mind...
I enjoy a wide variety of microbrew beers..yuengling is one of my favorites. One day i accidentally picked up a 6-pack of Lord Chesterfield Ale (they are stocked right next to my favorite, yuengling traditional lager). I was told i would be the...
When I was in Pennsylvania for the summer during 1999, I freqeuntly drank a beer by the name of Yuengling and discovered that it was all my favorite beers in one seemingly. I was overwhelemed by the way it went down smooth and how I ws able to drink it...
Lord Chesterfield in a can! by mashman ,Apr 13 '04
Pros: Hoppy, flavorable, and smooth. Inexpensive. Cons: Does not have the body and depth of flavor of real ales.
LC is a great inexpensive beer. Who cares if it is not an ale. It is creamy and smooth with lots of hop bitterness for the price. My rule of thumb is not to buy beer in green bottles. Green bottles allow light to cause a chemical change in the beer. This destroys the flavor. Buy a case of cans or by the keg.
Who cares whether or not it's a real ale, it sure tastes like one and the hops used make themselves known on the first sip. Tasty but not overbearing. And yes it's in the 5.4% alcohol content range so it's not frat boy guzzle beer (unless you really want it to be). In the Baltimore area, it is sold at the same price point as Bud & Coors, but the overall taste and the value of the ingredients used make it worth a buck more. This beer is my own little discovery and hopefully I'll get to enjoy it lots before everyone else catches on and Yuengling sees fit to raise the price! No one knows or cares who Lord Chesterfield was, but this will help keep it our little secret.
