I have used the nasal gel in the past with no problems other than not liking the feeling of gel in my nose. I used the oral spray for the first time 6 hours ago. It tasted nasty. I brushed my teeth and tongue 4 times and also used mouthwash. I cannot taste anything ! I just looked around on the internet and it seems that some people have permanently lost their senses of taste and smell from this product. I will not use it again. I am just hoping that I get my sense of taste back.

I am a big believer in Zinc remedies,having used Cold-eez for years. Alas, the Zicam spray left same metallic after-taste as the lozenges, but at least you don't have to keep it in your mouth for ten minutes like the slimy candy-like lozenges. Wrecks the taste of food for about 1-2 hours after just like Cold-eez. Don't make dinner reservations, trust me. Needless to say, if it didn't work I wouldn't subject myself to it. Better than a yucky 15 day cold!!! And it does relieve the cold symptoms without "medicine head"

I've used both the nasal gel and oral spray for about 4 years and they work great. some say the spray is chalky but i disagree. it does leave a slight taste behind, but it's quickly gone. thing is, how long do you want the cold to last, and how bad do you want the symptoms? i want mine gone immediately and the symptoms as few as possible. so if you are like me USE BOTH. the cold virus starts in the mouth and nose. if you use just one, you are only waging half a war. the choice is yours, but i have had lots of success with using both at the first signs of a cold. i have never had a cold for longer than about 2 days as i keep zicam at work, home, and even in my car. cause the sooner you catch it, the less chance of getting the cold. ive even nipped many colds in the bud and literally never even got the cold except for the initial achiness and stuffy nose for a few hours, and then completely gone after attacking it with zicam. it's good stuff!

I've used Zicam products before. This is my least favorite. After spraying it in your mouth, and holding it for 15 seconds and then not drinking anything for 15 minutes, my taste buds feel very numb. And not to mention it really does not taste good.

I feel like the mint would be fine if i could have something to drink afterwards. 

My favorite Zicam product is the nose swabs. It is a lot easier and less of a disruption to your routine.

I get severe colds that last anywhere from three to four weeks. I decided to take a chance on this product because I figured it couldn't hurt. I bought the mint flavored one and I gotta tell you it was horrible tasting but what medicine isn't? I've had this cold for about a week now and this product has really helped at reducing the symptoms. It won't cure you but it does make your cold tolerable and it appears that I am already getting better.
