Pros: Gus and Call Cons: Nobody's interesting all their lives
You've either read Lonesome Dove or you haven't. If you haven't, now you have the opportunity to start at the beginning, with Dead Man's Walk, then read Comanche Moon, then Lonesome Dove, and finish with Streets of Laredo, which is a hard book, and sad....
Pros: A wonderful story, told with great artistry Cons: none
Comanche Moon is one of the four novels that McMurtry has completed in his great epic of the American West that began with his Pulitzer Prize winning Lonesome Dove. There have been two prequels and a sequel to Lonesome Dove. In Dove, we were introduced...
This is another outstanding novel by Larry McMurtry! Not as long as the orginal novel of Lonesome Dove that he wrote but all 700 and some pages of it had me spellbound.

Another McMurtry Masterpiece by bigfoot2003 ,Nov 28 '03
Pros: Page 1 thru page 800 and something Cons: Buffalo Hump died in it
Comanche Moon, just like Lonesome Dove is a true work of art. McMurtry's imagination produces page after page of western poetry. My favorite part was when CPT Skull was held prisoner in a cage By Ahumado, the Black Vaquero. The way CPT Skull escaped was incredibly entertaining. Im bummed that it was never made into a movie like the other three novels, but maybe that was because no producer is talented enough to keep up with the incredible imagination of Larry McMurtry.
