Pros: Wonderful, greatly improved guitar work by Dan Donegan [APPLAUSE]. Cohesive, full, consistent, heavy album. Cons: It will distract me from studying for my Government test this Friday. Oh well! :)
Oooooh, yes. 2005 has been an exciting year for music! Most of my favorite bands have either released an album or are currently working on one. I have been obsessed with Chicago's finest metal band Disturbed for years, so my anticipation for ...

Pros: Land of Confusion cover, a few decent licks and riffs buried in the overblown bombast Cons: Draiman's voice sounds weakened, repetitive, little to no growth musically or lyrically
Given the outpouring of grief and support in the heavy metal community over last year's cold blooded murder of Dimebag Darrell Abbott that more of them would aim to reach the heights that he did, not only as a guitar player, but as an important ...

Pros: Still some trademark tracks; Pretty energetic throughout Cons: Uneven and predictable, especially compared to the band's previous disc
Disturbed set a high bar with their sophomore release Be
lieve
-- a sweeping effort with a full gamut of memorable tunes and introspective lyrics. The band that made themselves most known on a funny-sounding lead ...

Pros: wicked guitar solos, rad riffs, "Guarded" and "I'm Alive" Cons: Song impact kind of drops after "Sons of Plunder"
Thanks to the wonderful artwork by Todd Mcfarlane and Greg Capullo, Disturbeds latest release Ten Thousand Fists falls under the Dont judge a book by its cover stereotype. It looks dark and evil, and in a ...

Pros: Draiman’s razor sharp vocals pulsate with the roaring guitars, Stricken is a beast. Cons: Nowhere near as good as Believe, lack of adventurous spirit hurts Disturbed's development.
It didnt seem so long ago that legendary metal icon Ozzy Osbourne proclaimed Disturbed to be the future of the metal genre. That was back in 2000, when the Chicago quartet burst onto the scene with the mega hit debut album, The Sickness. ...

Pros: The vocals, the energy and the times when the band dare to be different Cons: Consistent instrumental monotony and frequent lacklustre yells
Ten Thousand Fists prove that the Disturbed are still ripping up the music scene, combining their elements of nu/alt/heavy metal to fuse their sound, angry but wisely not completely enraged like many of their counterparts, nor as addicted to such topics ...

Pros: Much improved instrumentation and song-writing. Some very successful experimentation. Cons: Gets repetitive and predictable at times in the second half of the album
Disturbed has their lovers and haters, and I'll admit I was never a huge fan of the band. But this all changed when I was recommended a copy of Disturbed's third studio album Ten Thousand Fists. Originally, I just thought they were the band with ...

Pros: Price, Availability, Variety of songs. Cons: A few songs that get old somewhat fast.
Introduction I am a huge Disturbed fan. So when their new album "Ten Thousand Fists" came out, there was no question: I was going to buy it. Album Traits This album is full of a lot of different types of songs. Variety must have ...

Pros: Tracks 1 through 14 Cons: i have yet to find any.
So this is it isnt it? FINALLY, we Disturbed fans get to drool over new material after a very long 3 year wait in between releases. 10000 FISTS is Disturbeds third record, one that follows triple platinum THE SICKNESS (2000) and platinum ...

Pros: Soaring vocals, insightful lyrics, driving rhythms and incredible guitar riffs in Tracks 1-14. Cons: Somewhat formulaic in style.
‘Ten Thousand Fists,’ the much anticipated third installment of Disturbed confirms they’re back and stronger than ever. A mix of political statements and personal strife in relationships and self, this album could certainly be considered Disturbed’s ...

Pros: Donegan solos, Draiman's voice, Stricken, Ten Thousand Fists, Land of Confusion remake Cons: Political cliche, Avarice, Sacred Lie, Overburdened
For nearly a year, I've been awaiting this album from my favorite band Disturbed. After the passable The Sickness and the hopeful and elegant Believe, they release Ten Thousand Fists, the fusion of the two very different styles of the two previous ...

Pros: Brilliant vocals traditional to Draiman, familiar heavy Disturbed sound, guitar solos finally introduced Cons: Nothing truly innovative here, vocals sometimes drowned by (sometimes) repetitive riffs
Disturbed burst onto the scene in 2000 with their now Nu-Metal classic "The Sickness," and followed up in 2002 with the slightly more melodic and (in my opinion) lighter and therefore more disappointing album "Believe." Now Disturbed has returned after a ...

Pros: Sticks to the formula, although not sure if that is a pro Cons: Best song is not even theirs! Another step down from the previous CD
I will keep this one short and sweet, because this CD does not merit any special attention. Maybe its because the nu metal scene is getting as old and tiring as its '80s hair metal counterparts did during the rise of grunge. This CD by Disturbed ...

Pros: Lyrics, hands down. The drums are more defined than before. Versatile to the rock population. Cons: Flirting with the fine line of political cliche. Craving big explosions from a couple tracks.
For the past several years Disturbed has flirted with the deserved title of being one of today's premier hard rock bands. They've marked their territory with this release. Unbeknownst to me, they have yet to be consistently mentioned in the same ...

Disturbed 10000 Fists
by orbzjr ,Aug 09 '05
Pros: Good Heavy Guitar Work, Good Vocal Work, Powerful Tracks Cons: You won't like it if you don't like the other two albums
The Disturbed boys are back, and for those of you that listened to their other two albums; you ain't heard nothing yet!! The album is very powerful, and the bands guitarist has developed the ability to play guitar solos, though they are not in every song. Most of the tracks are unique, with only two out fourteen sounding alike their other records. These tracks being the title track, 10,000 Fists, which has an intro that is very reminiscant of The Sickness, and the track Guarded sounds very much like the Believe track Rise. Still this does not drag the album down, as it has many memorable tracks, some of these being: Son of a Plunder , Just Stop , Deify and Land of Confusion.
All in all the band has kept it's old sound , whilst integrating some newly developed guitar and vocal skills. The Guitars are heavier than usual, and Dave's voice really shines.
