Pros: Delightful parody of both children's entertainment and Gen X life. Cons: It will offend offend you on one level or another, if that bothers you.
Summary: I've got a huge soft spot for the simple joys of childhood innocence. I enjoy stuff like Dr. Seuss, the Muppets, classic children's literature, and children's music (wh

Pros: very funny songs
no technical glitches, cd is overall well made Cons: language may be to foul for some
Summary: Avenue Q is an amazing musical, and first and foremost I would like to recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind some (ok, a lot of) crude humor. I was laughing throughout practically the whole show. I was actually in pain by the end of the show, because ...

Pros: great way to relive the theatre experience Cons: might not want to play around kids
Summary: I went to see Avenue Q and loved it. It was really funny and I knew I'd want to find the soundtrack after the show was over. And so I did. The black CD with a large orange Q on it is an hour long and follows the play. However ...

Pros: Fun, witty, clever, upbeat. Cons: It will make you CRAVE seeing the show onstage.
Summary: I buy a lot of cast recordings, being a lover of Broadway shows (even though I've NEVER had the opportunity to see a show ON Broadway. I've always loved a good musical. Generally speaking, very few cast recordings come out that are completely ...

Pros: Great musical, witty lyrics, wonderful performances, catchy songs... Cons: ...a lot of profanity and some racy songs (Read Review)
Summary: Note: This review reveals minor details of the musical's plot. Who'd have thought that a musical about puppets would make it onto Broadway and win a Tony Award for Best Musical? I suppose writers Jeff Marx and Robert ...

Pros: Hilarious spoof of "Sesame Street" Cons: Not a con about the CD, but the play itself is not going to tour
Summary: Thank goodness for soundtrack albums. I've been hankering to see "Avenue Q" ever since it snatched the Tony Award right from under "Wicked's" nose. Unfortunately, instead of sending out a touring company, "Avenue Q" is going to establish a permanent home ...

Pros: Catchy tunes, Hilarious lyrics. Cons: a lot of profanity.
Summary: First of all, this CD is NOT for children. I am not a big fan of musicals. Actually, I usually find myself looking at my watch at least as much as I do the stage, so when my parents told me that they had gotten tickets to Avenue Q, and expected ...

Pros: Strong lyrics and music, outstanding performances, a fun and funny new musical. Cons: One too many "F-words," can't listen to it with the kids.
Summary: It’s been a while since I’ve written a music review, but I’ve recently been forced to discover a Broadway Musical soundtrack that’s one of the funniest and most provocative CDs I’ve listened to in a long time. Forced? Yes. Hanging out at Muppet ...

Pros: Toe-tappingly hilarious lyrics, great liner notes Cons: CD costs more than $15, because you'll want to see the show after hearing it!
Summary: JediKermit's comments are spot-on. All that I can add is that I was lucky enough to actually see "Avenue Q" on Broadway yesterday--GO SEE THIS SHOW! The cast album has all the musical numbers in the show, but trust me: you're really missing out if you

Pros: The cast on the CD is the cast you would see on stage! Cons: Language not for young kids!
Summary: This show is one of the best on broadway but even if you can't go and see it you will enjoy the sidesplitting humor in the songs. There is something wise about the message conveyed in this show. Not for young kids tho... Don't let the puppets fool

Pros: music & lyrics - witty, funny and touching
performances of Stephanie D’Abruzzo & John Tartaglia Cons: not for kids
Summary: I'm a big fan of Broadway musicals and I wasn't sure if any show with puppets would be able to challenge the likes of "Into the Woods," "City of Angels," or any of the classics of the 50's or 60's. Boy, was I wrong. I'm still singing the music a week
