  • An older version of me. Does she speak eloquently?

    Nov 25 '05
Pros: Now I realize how beautiful and poignant some of JLP's lesser-known songs were.
Cons: A few remakes are dull; I still don't like some of the harsh language here and there.

Summary: Alright, time to deal with some demons from my past. Alanis Morissette is certainly no stranger to dealing with personal demons, but unfortunately for her, in this case, she is the personal demon for me to deal with. It's been 10 years now ...

  • Alanis Revisits The Scene Of The Crime

    Sep 13 '08
Pros: Great New Angle On A Classic Album
    Cons: Not One Flaw Here!

Summary: In 1995, out of no where, the entire world met a very angry, and sometimes distant Alanis Morissette with her mega hit album Jagged Little Pill. Jagged Little Pill was an album that spoke for many young angry people, either through the jilted ...

  • Alanis and Her "Acoustic" Jagged Little Pill

    Nov 08 '05
Pros: Some great songs including Right Through You, Forgiven, and Ironic...
Cons: Some unimpressive remakes, a completely unnecessary album...

Summary: In the mid-1990s young women everywhere were finally given an outlet. Brash, disenchanted, and evocative Canadian Alanis Morissette made her outstanding major label debut with what would become one of the best selling albums of all time. Jagged Little ...

  • "Jagged Little Pill" a Little Less Jagged...

    Sep 18 '05
Pros: Alanis is more smoother, the vocals are technically stronger, emotion still there...
Cons: none...if you liked the original JLP you'll like this one, too.

Summary: Every now and then something comes along so great it is celebrated long after it first debuted. Out in 1995, "Jagged Little Pill" was that something. It featured an anguished and scringing (my mix of 'singing' and 'screaming') Canadian by the name of ...

  • It’s a kinder, gentler Alanis: It’s ok…I’m a kinder, gentler Monica.

    Jul 28 '05
Pros: Old favorites in new attire, it's great to see these songs ten years later
Cons: Hand In My Pocket and Your House were better originally.

Summary: Man, in 1995 I was p*ssed. I had dropped out of school, the love of my life was in the military and I couldn’t find him (now he’s laying in bed with my daughter)and I was a deli meat slicer with the queen of type A personalities for a boss. ...

  • Someone's calmed down a bit over the last ten years.

    Jul 16 '05
    Pros: It's just amazing.
    Cons: none

Summary: A couple of days ago, I was waiting for my chai tea latte at one of my local frap making coffee houses and I realized that they were actually playing some Alanis. Not the angry Alanis that I was used to and adored. The one that I put on everytime I ...
