    Nov 23 '02
    Pros: Great sound
Cons: Remote still has a bug or two

Summary: I did a lot of reviewing of surround receivers on the web and at local electronics stores. The other brands I was considering were Yamaha, Onkyo, and Harmon Kardon. I chose the Denon primarily because every review that I read had positive things to say ... read more

    Aug 21 '02
Pros: Great sound, ease of installation, ease of use
Cons: Manual needs to be re-written for all to understand.

Summary: I have researched and studied most receivers in this class and this one takes the prize for price/features/quality. I use this receiver in my family room and am only running Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1. I chose this 7- channel amp because you can assign ... read more

  • More than you need, more than I need, but causes incurable fits of "The Grins"

    Aug 06 '02
Pros: Incredibly powerful, all the connections you need, and no fluff
Cons: Probably a bit of overkill for most homes (mine included)

Summary: I truly am my own worst enemy. I now have a Denon 3802 receiver occupying the same space that an already stellar 2802 once occupied, and the only reason I traded up was the nagging feeling that "good enough" wasn't "good enough." This unit ... read more

    Pros: Very powerful unit
    Cons: Too complex to operate

  • Brilliant (and cheap) super-receiver

    Jan 06 '02
Pros: DTS-ES, powerful, lots of inputs, good remote... love it!
    Cons: None

Summary: This receiver has all the good. All the way to DTS-ES, the sound decoder can handle almost anything, except DVD-Audio. The system, however, has wideband (up to 100kHz) audio inputs for 'future technologies'. The sub out, 7+1 channels, ... read more
