Pros: Small Size and a quick autofocus Cons: Display isn't as sharp as competitors
Pentax introduced the Optio 330 around the middle of last year and have had much better luck with it then their previous digital cameras. At the price point that the Optio 330 sits at it is an extremely competitively priced camera that offers a wealth...
Pros: quite compact, build quality, fast AF, short time lag, easy to use, accurate optical viewfinder. Cons: battery hungry, no bundled softcase, no sound in movie mode, no separate "simple" LCD
Last month, I bought this compact DC used (for several months only) from my colleague. At a very good price, I got the following:-
- all the things originally boxed;
- an additional spare battery made by Fuji, with larger marked capacity of...
Pros: Pro features, compact, high quality Cons: Manual focus drains battery and is loud, movie mode limited
I had a Pentax Ei-100 for about 2 years, but 1.3MP was becoming not enough anymore. So, i was looking into the digital camera market again wanting at least 3MP, a CF card camera (because i already had a 128mb card) and 3X optical zoom, for under $200. ...
Pros: very compact, great zoom, easy buttons/menus to navigate, reliable (I've used mine trouble-free for years) Cons: short battery life, no sound with video mode
I've had my Pentax Optio 330 for at least 3 years now, and I love it. It's not top of the line and nowadays, there are tons more options on newer models, but this one works great for me. I think the previous reviews are very accurate for the product. ...
Pros: Small Cons: Atrocious Customer Service & a worthless Warranty
I purchased this camera New from a reputable camera dealer just prior to my wife and I getting married in December. It came with all the valid warrantees and receipts. Slowly, over the course of our honeymoon the it was harder to get the shutter...
Pros: Small, compact camera which can be kept in a pocket. Cons: Slow to take a picture.
I bought this camera because I was looking for a small compact camera which could be hidden away easily. Also one that took good quality digital images and some short video.
This camera satisfied all these criteria which meant it was the product...
Pros: Great value for the money. Cons: Have to purchase an optional DC converter.
Easy to use, just replaced my first digital camera. Has a night picture setting that is difficult to use, haven't mastered that with any success. You need absolutely still subjects or a tripod for this feature to be utilized. I suspect that to be...
Pros: Compact Size, 3X Zoom, Excellent Quality Cons: No Aperture/Shutter priority, No sound on movies
Once again I'm impressed with Pentax's offerings. The Pentax Optio 330 is a powerful 3.3 Megapixel camera in such a compact case. Don't be fooled, this camera packs a punch. The image quality is excellent and the number of features abound. For the more...
Pros: Fits perfectly in my jeans pocket Cons: AF is NOT functioning!
I was not satisfied with the focusing from beginning and sent it back for repair. When I got it back the problems remained the same. After discussions with Pentax Sweden they were kind to give me another brand new copy!
Still a great camera after 4 years by renlute ,Oct 05 '06
Pros: Sharp, reliable photos; not too hard to figure out the features Cons: A bit heavy and thick compared to newer cameras
You can't buy this model anymore except maybe on Ebay, but you might want to know about Pentax longevity. I bought the Optio 330 new in early 2002 and have had zero trouble with it.
Photo quality is excellent; shots almost always turn out well unless in extreme light situations. It has made me look like a better photographer than I probably am.
The so-called macro (close-up) feature is very handy. I occasionally use it to snap quick copies of book pages in the library instead of a photocopy machine, though the copier would make sharper pix.
Newer models are lighter (this one's a big on the heavy side) and smaller and probably have bigger LCDs, but I won't replace this till it give up the ghost. Then I"ll buy another Pentax.
Shutter release failed after 2 years by bluedayflyer ,Sep 22 '04
Pros: Handy, compact design with some manual control Cons: Failed after two years, poor battery life, gets hot after extended use
I used this camera mainly for vacations, and casual pictures. A fairly user friendly camera, it was easy to grab for the casual photo.
Since there are more comprehensive reviews out there, I will just summarize some of my findings:
-Intuitive user interface, easy to learn
-Good overall pics quality, but surprisingly, there have been obvious artifacts on the occaisonal pic.
-The camera consumes a lot of power! It gets hot quickly. A spare battery is essential.
-Poor low light focusing is frustrating.
-A choice of two apertures only in manual mode. Hello?
- Low sync/flash speed, weak flash
Very easy to use. Small and lightweight. Can hang around neck on strap included with camera, and snap away when photo opportunities arise. Perfoms as expected. Would definitely recommend this for someone who wants a small camera that easily fits in pocket or purse, takes good pictures, and is easy to use. This is the first digital camera I have owned, and am very pleased with it.
This is a good camera... by magnus_dt3000 ,Sep 06 '02
This is a good camera which I recommend to everybody. Mostly because of the size and weight. The pictures looks good outdoors an it's very easy to use. Too bad though that ther is no sound recording in movie mode.
