This antenna worked magic on my HDTV
by davidcjohnson ,Feb 06 '06
Pros: Actually works, pulls in channels great! Easy to fine tune. Cons: A tad large
I got my HDTV just in time for the Superbowl, on Friday. Only to find out, you need a very good antenna to get the best signals from your free HDTV broadcasts in your area.
I bought an antenna from Radio Shack, it didn't work worth beans. The signal broke up constantly, even if I put the "indoor antenna" outdoors on the porch.
After a quick web search, I went back to another store and got the Terk TV5. This antenna works wonders!!
The reception is now crystal clear, 99.99% of the time. Sometimes if you walk near it, a brief screen glitch occurs but it is a wonderful device.
I am using it in a basement, way down in a corner, which is behind an outbuilding and tree in terms of the TV signals, and it still works great!!!
Easy to do a slight tuning by just turning the top. I need to move it maybe 3 inches one way or another when going from low numbered channels to higher ones.
