Cavalier hatchback...Definately not fastback.

Pros: Very reliable, Stylish, Handles well, 5-speed manual is a nice option.
Cons: Lacks power(Especially during acceleration or climbing hills), brakes lock easily(Especially on wet roads).
The Bottom Line: Yes. It is very reliable, and my model in particular is only equipped with power steering and brakes, but from what I've heard about these cars, less is more.

I really like the body styling on my cavalier hatchback. To me, it's actually sort of sporty looking with it's massive slanted rear window and 2 door styling with the little 'TYPE 10' emblems on the sides. I've owned my cavalier for about 7 or 8 months ... read more

Pros: Nice styling, comfortable interior, & power everything. A rare convertible for only about $1,200!
Cons: Overall quality is terrible. Components will break down, often unpreventably.
The Bottom Line: Though fun and comfortable, the quality is terrible. Unless you're dead-set on buying American, look to the imports first.
