Pros: Size, avail parts, strong engine. Cons: Paint, electrical stuff, minor parts failures. The Bottom Line: This is a tough, rugged vehicle. It has held together nicely and I have had very few problems with it.
This opinion is about the FULL SIZE K5 Blazer. I noticed that there were several opinions in this column about the little ones, I thought they were under a separate section so I hope I am not out of line putting this here. All right let’s get to it:...

Pros: Reliable, secure, dependable, great for towing on flat areas Cons: could use more HP, needs a rear mount spare not an inside mount
I bought this car about a year ago (June 1999) while I was looking for a jeep. All of the jeeps I looked at were too expensive for the condition they were in. So I picked up the blazer instead. when I purchased the blazer it had 123,000 miles on it...

Pros: 19 mpg city, 23 mpg highway under 60 mph with 6.2L, 4X4 is outstanding. Cons: New passenger side fender. Reman'd injector pump because of JP-4 in tank. No overdrive.
We bought a military Blazer straight from Uncle Sam. She has 55K miles. She's a diesel 6.2L. We had to reman. the injection pump due to some G.I. using JP-4 in the system and starving the pump of lubricant. She has no A/C, no radio, no real interior beyond seats, the dash and door panels. She's respectably quiet all things considered. The interior is very roomy and comfortable for a military vehicle. She was at Fort Hood during service so there's no rust issues. My wife enjoys using the truck for grocery shopping. The back is perfect for loading a multitude of groceries and boxes. The pintle hitch was missing so we bought a pintle/ball combination. We also have a transportable shelter that hooks up behind her. The trailer is a 24 volt system from the military. The truck is a 12/24 volt system. The starter, charging system and trailer harness is 24 volt. the rest of the truck is 12 volt. It makes buying spare parts easy.
