Pros: Hugs the road, fun to drive, Rear Wheel Drive. Cons: Electrical Faults. Lack of tilt Steering. Poor headlights, water collects in taillights The Bottom Line: Roominess is poor, but it's a PORSCHE. This car says DRIVE ME. If that's what you'll do this car's for you.
It's hard to make an objective report on a vehicle that is so easy to love. For 3 years I've driven my 944, never once disappointed in the way it drives. If you've driven a decent Go-Kart, you will understand the feeling of a 944. Small nimble, ...

Pros: Fast, Great Handler Cons: Expensive to repair. VERY expensive to repair... The Bottom Line: Cheap to buy, expensive to own. A great car that's not worth the hassle.
Had a 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo for about 22 months. This car had one owner before I bought it, and it was well taken care of, yet I still spent $12,000 on maintenance on it in 22 months, and I only put 26,000 miles on it.
944 Turbos are great...

Pros: good milage, fine driving machine Cons: expensive parts, back seat is almost non-existant The Bottom Line: Get one, if you like driving a fine automobile. A good investment that will bring much driving pleasure.
I just got my 86 944 and love it!! Drives like a dream. Looks great! Great gas mi. The interior/controls are VERY well designed, very comfortable, however the "back seats" are only fit for midgets- this car is really a two seater!
This is a classic...

Pros: Great looks, Great car, pure sports car Cons: Expensive to fix and keep up The Bottom Line: If you want a great sports car for little money this is it. I think over the next ten years they will become very collectable. Remember maintenance isn't cheap though.
I bought my 1986 944 Turbo used from a car lot. I'm the second owner. The car runs like a top, but has a few minor things to fix. I put the water pump, timing chain and clutch as part of my budget to replace before buying. I've owned a 1968 Corvette,...

Pros: Gorgeous looks in Turbo form, performance, easy on gas Cons: Expensive to fix, not for people who abuse their cars The Bottom Line: Thinking of a mid to late 80s Porsche? The 1986 944 Turbo is the one to have, and one everyone will be pointing to, 20 years from now.
I have a 1986 944 Turbo with just a shade over 65,000 miles as we approach 2002. Im the third owner and have had it for about two years. I will confine my comments only to the 944 Turbo.
I always wanted a Porsche and initially looked at 911s,...

Pros: Great looks, ride quality and low prices Cons: High maintenance costs and low resale values
As an owner of a used 944 for the past 4 years and a Porsche Club of America Member for the past 10 or so years I can sum up the ownership in a few quick sentences.
When this car is running well it is one of the most fun to drive and...

Pros: great handling, great SCCA racer Cons: a little expensive on the repair bills
Porsche never seems to upset me as far as performance goes at a reasonable price, for around four thousand dollars you can get a used Porsche 944, that has the best looks of almost any modern car out today, it is sure to turn heads. my 944 is as far as...
