Pros: It's such a bad performer that it is incredibly fun to drive. Cons: It cost more in repairs than it did to buy it The Bottom Line: If you find one with a solid mechanical background, it's an excellent choice if on a budget. Otherwise, there are better choices.
My '88 Accord LX has been in my family since the early 90's, after my mother bought it from some friends to replace her '84 Tercel. I've only been driving it for a few years, and in some ways I hate to sell it, but by the same token it's about ...

Pros: Car holds its value and performs well Cons: No warranty for used cars
If you're in the market for a dependable used car, I heartily recommend the 1988 Honda Accord LXI. I purchased mine used in 1991 and she's still a'hummin'.
The car had 34,000 miles on the odometer when I drove it home. Now, almost...

Pros: Easy to maintain, reliable Cons: not for the performance oriented
Over twelve years ago I was looking for my first car. The Honda '88 accord 4 door, double barrel 1955 cc, 4 cylinder with manual transmission was my choice. Being a new owner I was careful to own a reliable car with low maintenance cost. The Honda...

Pros: read me Cons: read me
My first car was a 1988 Honda Accord LX. It was a white 4 door and had 54,000 miles on it when I found it. I must admit overall it was a good driver with better than adequate features. When it finally retired the motor was still sound with...

Pros: Moderately priced and reliable. Cons: No cup holders.
I myself find it hard to believe I'm writing a review of a twelve-year old car. Having just recently sold my '88 Accord 2-door after putting nearly 50k miles on it, I feel fairly qualified to give an accurate, albeit late, review.
The Honda...

Pros: A wonderful reliable car in which i don't mind being seen inside, Low Cost,, good on gas Cons: some rust (bc i live in the Rust belt), things to look for.... Breaks, Electrical, Transmission
I Owned a Black 4Dr Honda Accord LXi for over six years now with the current miles at 190,234. I've bought the car during my HS (at a scary 101,000 use miles) as a 'cool' car to have since it was tricked out with tinted windows and in great conditions....

Pros: Durability, Body Style Cons: Brakes, Low Seats, Parts$$$, High Theft
My beige '87 DX is still going strong at 198,000 miles. I keep the car clean by giving it the Armor All treatment often - Have you noticed what a great shine that stuff puts on the dashboard and the black rubber (plastic) trim on the outside? But it has...

Pros: Great Pickup Cons: Power windows slowing down
My 1988 Honda Accord LX Sedan is just shy – by 40 miles- of hitting the 200,000 mile mark and still going strong. I recently also had a 1998 Plymouth Neon and this car outperformed the Neon by far. For the age of this vehicle the pick up and power is...

Pros: great cars Cons: not for a family
We own a 1988 Honda Accord LXI. The interior and outer body is in perfect condition (with the exception of a hit and run dent which is a LONG story). We just barely hit 100,000 miles and 3 years ago we had to have the transmission rebuilt which cost...

Pros: durable and reliable Cons: expensive to fix
I am a proud owner of a Honda accord, unfortunately mine is an 88 model. However I am pushing 200 thousand miles and I do not have any major problems. Honda accords are excellent cars, if you maintain them. Maintaining them includes getting the oil...

Pros: Reliable, fun to drive, excellent resale value Cons: Could use more power, better stereo, power locks, lower theft risk
In 1994, I purchased my first car, a 1988 Accord LX-i Coupe. At the time, I was looking for an affordable used car with a good maintenance history. I chose a Honda because of their reputation for being well-built and for maintaining strong resale...

Pros: Great mileage Cons: Body rusts easily
I bought a 1988 Honda Accord 4 door LX four years ago from a used car dealer. I paid $5,500.00 for the car with about 70,000 miles. Everyone told me I was being ripped off, the car was in good condition so I figured I would go for it. This car is one of...

Pros: The older they are the better made Cons: The newer ones are prone to rattle more
I was desperate to get out of a "monster" vehicle when I went to the dealership. In the bitter cold, I drug the salesman through the lot and we found a 1988 4 door Honda Accord. It had 125,000 miles on it, but after a quick drive, I knew that...

Pros: Unique seating postion, reliable, easy to fix/have repaired. Cons: Corrosion problems, lackluster performance. The Bottom Line: If the price is fair, it will be cheaper and out-last anything other than a Toyota or Mercedes.
I purchased a 1988 Accord EXI in Decemeber of 2000 and to date it has been quite reliable. I live in Quebec which is notorious for rust problems so I will go easy on the manufacturer as most cars rust in this climate if not properly maintained. For what...
