Pros: Spacious, Comfortable, Reliable Cons: Possessed by Satan The Bottom Line: If you're not afraid of a car possessed by Satan, this could be the car for you!
Have you ever owned a car you loved, but you knew it was time to move on to a newer one? For me, that car was my 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 (an '88 88), which now has 186,000 miles on the odometer. My friends and I refer to it as the ...

Pros: Dependable, powerful, comfortable, efficient, light weight, driver friendly, not bad looking. Cons: Transmission issues, brake fatigue, body roll, rust. The Bottom Line: Take good care of these cars and they will likely last another 20 years, great for budget oriented buyers. Very reliable and powerful with a high degree of driver friendliness.
Introduction:My first car after I received my license was a 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale four door hardtop sedan ( or Delta 88 for short). It was light blue in color with dark blue interior, and stretched just over 16 feet long. The car ...

Pros: Fast, comfortable, roomy Cons: erratic electronics.
I bought this car a little over than a year ago, in a private deal, for $1500 Canadian. It's a 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88, the Royale Brougham model. My previous car, a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, known affectionately as 'The Beast' was, to put it...

Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing The Bottom Line: It rocks and was about the best damned car I ever owned!
This Epinion was originally posted in June 2000. As of 10 December 2000 I no longer owned Patsy. With a tear in my eye (and now) I traded her on a 1999 Dodge Intrepid ES. I was very upset to find that I needed a few things replaced on her PHYSICALLY! NOT...

My Beloved '88 88

Pros: Very responsive and peppy, excellent positive steering. Roomy. Love it. Cons: Paint...armrests...back window spontaneously shattered once.
Reading these reviews makes me laugh, as there is much in common with my '88 88, including "removable" arm rests, the incredible reliability, and how attached many owners are to theirs.
Just two weeks ago the (original) transmission finally went out. I've driven this car for 14 years, and it has 235,500 miles on the original engine and transmission. Only a year ago did I replace the timing belt for the first time.
I've been routinely driving it on Los Angeles freeways the past several years and the combined mileage has still ranged between 23 and 26 mpg. (In its prime, I would get 28-30 mpg on long hauls by myself.)
To say I have loved this car would be an understatement, and when the transmission went out (not going to replace it), I shed tears and felt the way I guess people feel when they lose a pet.
Thanks. It's been a great ride.

Pros: Very roomy, comfortable,Quiet, great on gas, lots of pep, handles very well, Cons: no cd player,no tinted windows,no graphics, just a plain jane four door car. I love it.
I had many cars in my life. I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Ozi-Lancer. Bought it new and now has 45,000 miles and cannot compare to this Olds that I just bought for $200.00. Its a Royale Broughm and is Grey in color. very roomy and has a 6 cylinder. Paint needs a touch up or maybe a new paint job, but, it only has 78,000 orig. miles. I'll get a least another 5 years out of it.I'm 6'8 and about 300 lbs. Lots of leg room and very comfortable for us large people.
