Pros: Fast, good AC, comfortable for a sports car (im 6'1''). Cons: A lot of parts go out at the same time, small storage space. The Bottom Line: Good High School/College Car. Not so good for recent college grad.
I recently sold my 1989 5.0L V8 Trans Am because I have to move up north to Michigan (from Texas) for graduate school and wanted a car that had 4x4 capability, I will most likely end up getting a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, Sport. So, while my memories of my ...

Pros: Pretty Cons: big, gas-eating
I have owned my 1989 Pontiac Firebird for three years. For the first two years, it did fine. It was a big, slow, gas hog but a sound and reliable car nonetheless. It was comfortable, and the air conditioning was fabulous. I put maybe $400 of repairs into...

Pros: Not a bad compromise Cons: Typical, back seat is for kids The Bottom Line: Great Looks, good performance, very good handling and cheap to keep.
As those of you who have read my other reviews know, I am a car nut. Certifiable. Well, things have materialized in my life of late that have forced me to make some choices. Choices about everything. Wine to cars to hobbies to women.
Now...

Pros: Sleek, nimble, enough room for the driver, cheap Cons: bumpy, noisy, little passenger room, "impractical"
I bought my 1989 v6 firebird about a year ago, and have had nothing but good things to say about it. Everytime i pass an intersection in the town I live in, at least two or three people are staring at my car. Taking off the T-tops in the summer adds...

Pros: power, handling, reliability, ease of maintenance, ease of upgrades, cost efficient!!! Cons: older styling, short on conveniences
New cars are very expensive! For the sports car buyer, finding the balance between performance and price, is often a hard searched dream! However, you may find the balance in buying a used Firebird!
I am the owner of a 1989 Firebird...

Pros: PIck-up Cons: None really
The Pontiac Firebird is not only a wonderful car to have to show off to people and Race. You can rely on the Firebird to start every morning. My best time with the firebird was when I first got it. It was warm out I had the windows down and I was...

Pros: It's a sports car! Cons: It's a sports car....
I bought my new 5-liter TPI 5-speed Formula in 1989, and enjoy it today as much I did that first year. I ordered a base car without T-tops to minimize the weight and rattles. The inside still looks brand new except for the driver's seat and the shift...

Pros: looks good, fun to drive Cons: bad in the winter weather
Of all the cars I've ever owned, I wouldn't trade my Firebird for anything! It's a 1989 model and I bought it second hand (have had it for almost 2 years now) but though it has over 178,000 miles on it - I have had very little trouble with it at all....

Pros: Powerful engine, cool t-top roof panels Cons: Reliability VERY poor, poor "wet" traction
I used to own a 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula. I bought it brand new,
right after I graduated college. I had wanted a Firebird ever since I
saw Smokey and the Bandit. It was black, with silver under-trim, and
had the standard TBFI 5.0...

Pros: Girlfriend likes it, gets only compliments Cons: $1500 of initial repair The Bottom Line: Whether you are in college or 45 and looking for a car, you'll like this one.
I bought this car after only driving it once. It ran great, but after I got it, it died. I had a new engine and a few other things repaired which costed about $1500 total. Including the repairs and purchase price I paid $4300. It's fun as anything to...

Pros: Decent Mileage,Good Looks, Sounds great, runs great when 100% Cons: Not all to reliable if you beat on it
I bought this for my first car 3 years ago and just got rid of it. When I bought it, I knew that I would love it. It was fast, got good mileage, and handled great! I put only 15k on in in the 3 years I had it, but after a while I started to have some...

Pros: speed,reliability,t-tops,knowing most of the people on the road want it Cons: rattles, and it drinks gas,not a single luxuary item The Bottom Line: If you want gas milage or a quiet ride get a honda, but if you want speed and handling and looks, nothing beats a formula or t/a
I have owned a 88 firebird with a 2.8/automatic and a 89 formula with a 5.0/automatic. I had the 2.8 for two years, it was my first car and I had always wanted one. Then I got my formula about 6 months ago. I loved them both, the formula was fast,...

Pros: Cheap used car, just like any old car..invest on maintinence and repairs and it run fine. Cons: I never once regret buying this car.
Just until a few days ago I was the owner of a 1989 Pontiac Firebird 2.8L MPFI V6.I bought the car when I was 16 and still in high school.I must admit it looked like a rust bucket at the time, the flip up headlight motors were broken so the original owner had then tied with a wire, the paint was a nasty faded red,a rusted/used to be chrome tip fell off and need some TLC badly.Within the 4 years I drove her,I got it cleaned up such as a $600 paint job,Flowmaster exhaust, dated oil changes, about 2 grand worth of engine work, new tires, state inspections etc, headlight motors fixed,Sylvania Cool Blue headlights, the motorized trunk release etc.I bought a Mustang GT last year and handed the keys over to my parents and they took good care of her until just a few days ago,she was a heck of a car,got me through high school and passed state inspection with flying colors every year.A tow truck came the other day to haul her off, for the very last time.
