by sleepyjack
Oct 26, 2007 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: its fast, reliable and handles great
Cons: bad weather driving, blind spots
The Bottom Line: If your after '90s style muscle that is fast and inexpensive, this is your ticket

The first time I ever say the '90 GT that I now own was in my uncles garage. He showed me this beautiful red Mustang with new 5 spoke rims and an exhaust system that sounded like it would make even angels sing. I never thought that it would one day be ... read more

Feb 7, 2005 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Power, Roomy, Good Stock Sound System, 5.0 responds well to modifications, aggressive styling
Cons: Squirrely rear end, heavy handling, heavy car
The Bottom Line: Overall recommend, but not recommended for people with long commutes, or people looking for a practical car for use in many types of weather.

Ok first of all this car is not the ideal daily driver. It is a muscle car and it's main purpose is to thrill. It's definitely not the most practical car and all mustangs are infamous for their squirrely back end. Any car with a short wheel base, ... read more

Feb 22, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fun, parts are cheap and easy to find at Junk yards
Cons: Wiring Problems, Cop Magnet, Automatic
The Bottom Line: I love it, body style not my favorite of the Mustang but much better then the 70's-early 80's. Buy one and have some fun!!!!!!

I bought a 1990 "Wild Strawberry" (what was Ford thinking with that color) Automatic 2.3L Hatchback Mustang with a little over 100,000 miles when I turned 15, three years ago. I had two choices this or a Geo Metro... I'm happy with my car. I have done ... read more

1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0

by e_burden
Jan 25, 2002 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fast from the factory, inexpensive to repair and modify, cool looking ride.
Cons: Not the most comfortable ride, can get loud on road trips (depending on exhaust).
The Bottom Line: This car is the perfect fit for anyone wanting a fun, cheap, fast ride, with a definite "cool factor" included. Have fun!

I've owned my Mustang for 6 years and I really enjoy it. It's paid for, so I don't have to worry about a car payment. It's a 5 speed, so "in-town" driving gets old, but once we get on the open road, WATCH OUT! Fun and exciting are the two best words I ... read more

5.0 LX - How fast do you wanna go?

by shoplmart
Nov 30, 2001 - Updated Jul 5, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Super fast for a early 1990s production car, Light weight, Price.
Cons: Ford could easily have made this engine produce 300HP and still pass smog regulations.
The Bottom Line: If you don't have a lot of money to spend, but want a car that will get you from point A-Z faster than most other cars, this car is recommended.

If any car deserves the credit for bringing back American muscle car performance it is the Ford Mustang 5.0. Though the Mustang was available in a variety of styles and trim levels, the enthusiast who wanted the most bang for their buck ... read more

Darn Fast - If you're going in a straight line

by anecdoter
Oct 24, 2001 (Not Yet Rated)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fast, reliable engine, great acceleration, good handling (compared to an SUV)
Cons: poor handling (relative); what traction? poor fuel economy; High insurance premiums.
The Bottom Line: A great cruiser for dry roads. With a little money and elbow grease can outperform cars that cost four times as much.

Hey, it’s fast and looks good – what else could you want? Hopefully, not handling or braking ability. True to muscle car tradition, the last variation of the Fox platform Mustangs were designed to go fast in straight lines and to turn heads, not ... read more

Too many problems to justify the thrill of acceleration

Jul 17, 2001 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: RWD, lots of torque/HP, lots of attention.
Cons: Lots of attention, heavy, horrible on turns and in the rain, crappy brakes.
The Bottom Line: You want good quarter mile times in a car that needs constant maintenance? This car will be fine. You wanna canyon carve in a reliable machine? Get something overseas.

Through a bizarre series of family events, I attained my 1990 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX hatchback for free. I had just got my license a week ago, so I was thrilled to receive such a legendary car as my first car, and completely for free. I mean, you're a 17 ... read more

I had always owned a Chevy, my first car was a Chevy Malibu. After that it was one chevy after the other. Finally in the Spring of 2000, a friend of mine who owned a 1989 Mustang GT, talked me into selling my 1994 Chevy S-10. I sold my truck and ... read more

I bought a 1990 Mustang GT convertible in 1998 to use as a car to run around the island of Hawaii when we are there. The car had about 60k miles on it when I bought it. It is a fun car to drive and the gas mileage is pretty good as well. As ... read more

Pros: Drives great, quick, low maintenance cost.
Cons: Bad weather handling, insurance.

I bought this car on a summer day, I was driving to work, looked over and saw it sitting on the dealer's lot. Emerald green, white top shinning in the sun, I fell in love. I pulled in (in a 1989 Camaro). Looked it over, took it for a drive, ... read more
