Pros: Inexpensive, Great handling, loads of legroom Cons: Short on horsepower, may lead to purchase of aftermarket parts
To be fair, I should say up front that I have a 1989 240SX, not a 1990. However, any '89 manufactured after January of 1989 is identical to a 1990, so I feel I'm fairly well qualified to opine.
First of all, I'd like to dispel the myth that...

Pros: Great Handling, Reliable, Upgradeability, good looks, has features don't get in an economy car now Cons: Timing Chain Problem (mine rattles at 1500-1600 rpm) The Bottom Line: Definitely buy it if you are looking for something fun to drive. However, if you can find a 91 or newer, get that (more power, less gas consumption)
Really Torquey, really good looks if you have a silvia conversion (silvia front end). Handles like its on rails. I have a 1990 Nissan 240sx XE 5spd coupe with silvia front end conversion. With white bulbs, the silvia front end looks really good (dual ...

Pros: Handling, Styling, Ergonmics, torque, reliability, gas mileage, comfort Cons: Windowseals, No place to rest right heel. (I don't use cruise control) it's discontinued The Bottom Line: If you can find one at a decent price, drive it. Save some dough, Drive the hell out of it and drop an SR20DET then hang on to dear life.
I love this car. I bought this 14 Year-old, semi-beat-up, drive me till it die vehicle as a cheap mean of transporting myself off base. I paid $2000 a year ago when it had 140K mi =) and the only thing I had to replace was the starter...and when I ...

Decent power
Upgradeability Cons: Space
Cupholders
Could use a SR20det or CA18det! The Bottom Line: Good handling, decent power, RWD, and awesome value!
Sorry about that horrid title : ) The 240sx has to be the most fun car I have ever had the chance to drive. It's light, it has fantastic handling and even with the 145hp 2.4l engine, it has some real get up and go! The interior may be cramped to ...

Pros: reliable, torquey engine, easy to modify. Great looking, great handling. Cons: no built-in cup holders, and no convenient place to install them. The Bottom Line: I recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun yet reliable ride. It's great for performance mods too! Overall this car is an excellent value for your money.
If you're looking for a fun, fast, yet reliable car definitely look into the 240 Sx. For those of you into performance and racing as well as those you just want a car that's comfortable to drive and won't leave you stranded, I highly recommend this car....

Depending on what your looking for - the 240sx is NOT for everyone. If your looking for a small punchy "quick off the line" car that gets decent gas mileage, will get you through the years on basic maintananceing with of course great reliability, then...

Pros: Reliable,handles excellent,low maintanence car.
Cons: No cup holders and unable to place one anywhere. Along with a few minor quirks. The Bottom Line: I'd definately recommend this car to anyone, if you are looking for a sports car w/out the price and problems associated with them. This car handles/turns with precision.
The body of the car is sleek and very sporty. My car is not the usual hatch back style. It has a longer back, which I like the shape of it as compared to the other. Because of this body style it is a unique looking car, not like every other foriegn car...

Pros: price, durability, performance Cons: mileage, comfort features
I bought my 1990 Nissan 240sx with 120000 miles on the clock. I am now at 185000 and the car just wont quit. I really enjoy pulling away from the big sportutes that clog our streets. The car has adequate power, but with a little money and a good surf...

Pros: Engine design allows for fast access for repairs, Adequate acceleration, 25 miles to the gallon Cons: Automatic transmission is poorly designed, fuel consumption is relatively poor The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a car with a good reliability to price ratio, the Two Foaty could fit the bill. Mine is a good used car.
I bought a 240sx 2 years ago because it looked sporty and it had better performance compared to other cars in my price range i.e. 1990 civics, 1992 grand ams. The 240sx is the only rear wheel drive compact car on the market. Front wheel drives just don't...

Pros: Fairly quick car, fairly reliable, and inexpensive Cons: Not much room The Bottom Line: If need a fairly reliable car and you don't have much to spend than this is the car for you.
This is my second car and I like it a lot. I owned a 200sx before this car and this one is much nicer, looking wise and performance wise. I admit it is not even close to as fast as the 300zx but with a moderate 140-145 horsepower it can still take all...

After graduating from high school and working P/T for several years, I decided it was time to spend my hard earned money to buy myself a vehicle. I knew what I wanted and wouldn't stop looking until I found it. I wanted a car that would definitely get...

Pros: affordable sports car, easy to learn stick Cons: bad on gas, The Bottom Line: If you can get this car for less than $2600 in very good to excellent condition with around 125K its a good deal, otherwise don't waste your time.
I've only had this car for about 2 months and i haven't had too many problems with it yet, although i did have to pay about $300 for a new muffler system. It has about 125,000 miles on it and it runs really well, but as far as I know the clutch has never...

Pros: Great looks, bulletproof drivetrain, reliable. Cons: Tiny backseat, frame rust, not enough power.
I bought my 240sx fastback just over a year ago. At the time of purchase it had just over 163,000 kms on the clock and ran very smoothly. Since I bought the car, all I've had to replace were the fuel injector seals ($30 from Nissan) and the starter solenoid ($45). If you live in a snowy climate, be advised that the frame does rust in certain areas (near the exhaust manifold and the rear suspension links) and the rockers tend to rust too so be careful when purchasing. Another problem area in the 240 is around the center-mounted brake light and spoiler (if equipped) - the spoiler can leak water into the trunk causing rust and the brake light can rust out around the edges. With washing, and regular maintenance, this car is really a great value - better than average performance, great looks, cheap to repair, and economical to drive. If you want more performance, there are many different choices from mild to wild, but as a daily driver the 240SX is really in a class all it's own... As long as you never try to sit in the back seat anyway.
