Cons: Plastic interior components may come apart under stress
The Bottom Line: What can you say about a car that lasts longer than most marriages?

Upon reading the other reviews of this car, I cannot say I disagree with any points therein. We purchased our 1990 wagon in 1994, and have been driving it ever since, across half a dozen states in every kind of weather. This car has literally been ... read more

I received this car as a gift from my parents in 1990 when I was 20. At the time, I was very happy to have a new, reliable car after a horrible experience with a used Chrysler LeBaron GTS. After 14 years this week, I can proudly say that this car is ... read more

The Bottom Line: I would recommend a Corolla to anyone in the market for a compact car. When compared to the American compact cars of the time, there is no comparison.

My wife and I have owned our Corolla DX for around 6 months now. We bought it with 170,000 miles on it, and have added 6,000 of our own. So far, it has only impressed us. This car gets better mileage in the city than many cars get on the highway. On ... read more

I know, I know, most people wouldn't call a Toyota Corolla a tank. It's not big, it's not heavy, but it's solid. My one is a 1979 model I picked up nearly two years ago for $300. Since then, I've had more than 30,000 miles out of it, and spent nothing on ... read more
