Pros: great gas mileage for commute, lots leg room. Also lots of room to move things. Cons: windshield, rear door, sliding door leaked and sliding door also rattled.. TRANSMISSION The Bottom Line: It's a good cheap buy with minor repairs if the transmission has been replaced already, if not the repair is more than the value of the 91 Caravan
My caravan was given to us about year and half ago. So I can't really complain about it. I was and I am thankful for it. Even though from the beginning there were some problems. First we went through the car wash and water leaked from the windshield ... read more

Pros: Comfortable. Roomy. Smooth Highway Ride. Good Power. Elimination of Torque-Steer. Cons: Low Gas Mileage. Ponderous Low-Speed Handling. Carpet and Dash Haven't Aged Well. Oil Leaks The Bottom Line: AWD exacts a heavy mileage penalty for small traction gain.
Lengthening the Caravan made it ponderous. Would buy another one but short-wheelbase, and with FWD.
In 1996, I bought my 1991 Grand Caravan from a company specializing in insurance company theft recoveries and "rebuilders". I paid approximately $2000 under then-current KBB due to the fact that it had a crease in the left-front fender. I drove this ... read more

Pros: Sturdy, responsive in steering and brakes, long-lasting. Easy to maintain and work on yourself Cons: was pricey; early transmission failure; some electrical problems; rusty, leaky roof after 8 years. The Bottom Line: If you don't give up on it, it won't give up on you. Has paid off after going through "growing pains."
We bought our '91 in 1994 for $8895. It had 62,000 miles on it. We thought it was perfect for our growing family (the 5 of us could no longer squeeze into our beloved '88 Chevy Nova). Plus, the seats were removeable and interchangeable (the rear seat ... read more

Pros: gas mileage, transmission, motor Cons: acceleration The Bottom Line: If you need a nice family vehicle, get a Caravan with a 3.3L V6 or 2.5L 4 cylinder. It is a very useful, reliable vehicle
In June of 1991, my family and I decided it was time to get a minivan. We looked at all three domestic brands of minivans and none of them satisfied us but the Dodge Caravan. We asked our friends who had Caravans if they were satisfied with them and ... read more

Pros: Comfortable, versatile, aside from the tranny - reliable Cons: FWD, horrid transmission, weak gas mileage, removable seats weigh a ton The Bottom Line: Recommended for any situation save towing or true cargo hauling.
No one really *wants* to own a mini-van do they? I certainly didn't but, with 3 kids all moving into the soccer/basketball/band years... the choice wasn't really mine. We looked at a lot of mini-vans before settling on this one. Feature wise, this thing ... read more

Pros: Roooomy!, Not too many problems, Lot's of capacity, good for wheelchairs, Powerful engine Cons: Had to replace transmission, MAP Sensor went out repeatedly, interior panels come loose too easily. The Bottom Line: 142, 000 miles and still counting. It is showing its age and had one major problem over the years and a few smaller problems.
October of 1990. We were young and had a three year old son. He was handicapped and we knew our Dodge Colt and our Mustang were just not going to cut it with a wheelchair in the coming years (sniff...I really miss that Mustang). We were now in that ... read more

I bought my Caravan without researching the product first.
At first I loved it, because it rode and handle so well for such a large vehicle. But after I own it about two months the transmission started to give me problems, especially when it ... read more

I purchased my Caravan in 1994 with 78,000 miles on it and now have 151,000. Generally I am fully surprised and pleased with it's dependability. It has been in the shop a few times, but never for a major motor or transmission problem. I have never had ... read more

Well, it's needing it's third transmission, the body is rusting so bad, it won't make it to inspection. I just can't believe they are still selling these. I paid close to 5 grand for this vehicle, the only thing good about it is that---it's very roomy.

Pros: Reasonably Priced. Cons: You get what you pay for!
I purchased this van in '92. My first Van, and as I tend to "hang on to things", I've toughed it out and still have the Van as I write. But it hasn't been pretty. From the long list of recalls, to the very inept dealers in this area I've about had it. T
