Pros: LOTS OF POWER IF YOU ARE A POLICE OFFICER Cons: TOO MUCH POWER IF YOU ARE NOT A POLICE OFFICER The Bottom Line: If you like to hear the roar of the engine then this car is for you.
After my husband had his heart attack, we had to get rid of my Ford Probe. I knew then that it would be problems all the way. There always is when you are buying a used car. Usually you are buying someone else’s problems.
Well while we were...

Pros: Highway Bad Boy Cons: Four Accidents, Not my Fault (three with Grand-ams!)
If this car was an actual human, instead of zero-to-sixty, she would be doing ten-to-twenty for attempted vehicular manslaughter. "Vickey" is the unoriginal, informal name that my 1991 LTD LX earned. Before I describe the attack, here is...

Pros: unbeat luxury for the price Cons: speedometer only goes to 85mph The Bottom Line: If you're looking for comfort on a budget, the Crown Vic is the ticket.
In the early spring of 2001 my wife and I decided that a vintage muscle car was not a sensible choice of transportation anymore, at least as long as we were still going to college. I spent way too much time under the car and way too many tuition dollars...

Pros: Speed Cons: Poor maintenance record
This is essentially a re-hash of the Crow Vic opinion that I wrote earlier.
I was driving a 1987 Honda CRX that was about to die, and needed something quickly, so I hit a dealer specializing in used police cars,
figuring I'd get something...

Pros: V8 5 liter 150 horses!! kicks but!!! Cons: it's old so it needs some repairs.
I bought an '86 crown victoria for less than one thousand dollars and it never ceases to amaze me. It's got a V8, a 5 liter engine, and over one hundred and fifty horse power. This car might be old but it can definitely kick some but. It has a great...

Pros: Large, safe, quiet, smooth riding. Good power, economical for size. Cons: Large, not so economical if you have a lead foot. The Bottom Line: If you need a roomy, safe, and reliable car this is it.
Seen as a "gas-guzzler" . My gutless Mercury Sable usually gets worse mileage than the Crown Vic!
I wrote this review to set a few things straight. Unless you bought a used police car it has a 302 (5 liter)
160 horsepower v-8 motor that has been around in various sizes since 1962! It has always been a good motor in all it's displacements....

Pros: Reliable, built like a tank. Good highway power. Cons: Fuel mileage. The Bottom Line: I will not hesitate to recommend this car. They are still plentiful and make a great second car, or a good first car for the kid.
I bought my '91 Vic in 12/94 for 3400 dollars. It was an old Ohio State Patrol car with the 351 cu. in./5.8 litre engine with 88,000 miles on the clock. I'm still driving it today having racked up another 124,000 miles on it.
This car is one...

Pros: Big, comfortable, lots of power Cons: Gas hog, easy to break rubber The Bottom Line: I'd buy this car as a base to use for a kit car.
I had gotten the bug to buy a used police car so I could yank the motor and other heavy-duty items out of it for a Chevy project car.
I attended a Texas DPS (state police) auction to see what I could get. When they started auctioning off the...

My Ford LTD Crown Victoria Wagon, which I purchased new in 1989, is the best car I have ever owned. It has 8 passenger capacity, holds a 4ft wide piece of lumber between the wheel wells in the back. Has a hidden 9 cubic foot storage compartment when...

Pros: Smooth ride, power, and comfort Cons: size
I bought this vehicle because my father always drove big cars and I liked the ride. I purchaced my '89 Crown Victoria LTD two years ago and I haven't had any complaints at all. It has a quiet ride and all the power one would need. The only down side is...

Pros: V8, Dependable, Comfort, Cheap Cons: Frozen door, Slow seatbelt retraction
Hi,
I bought my 1987 Crown Victoria because it was cheap in 1992. It had 70,000 miles on it mostly highway miles for a business sales force. I paid $3,500 for it. It was just like new. I didn't like the way it looked at first because it...
