Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Attractive, fun, cheap, reliable
Cons: Slow 2.3 engine, getting old, snow traction
The Bottom Line: An excellent value in a fun, sporty car

Driving a Mustang convertible on a hot summer night is like skinny-dipping: it’s a sensuous experience that’s guaranteed to bring a smile to your lips. But unlike swimming naked, it comes with few worries. Low cost, high reliability and modern ...

Pros: Acceleration, handling, looks
Cons: Minor parts are cheaply built

I got a 1991 Ford Mustang GT from my parents back in 1991 for my senior year. They always told me they would buy me and my sister one good car to go to college on and that was it. After that I would have to buy the next one.

Little did I...

Experiences with the Ford Mustang and Drag Racing it

by pisces61

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great drag car
Cons: same as with any car

I personally love Ford Mustangs, for the simple fact that my brother has been drag racing with them for years, and I love to watch. I could not find an epinions category on drag racing, so I thought this story would fit best under the Mustang category....

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent Performance Bargain, Reliable, Fun to Drive...What else is important???
Cons: Not new anymore
The Bottom Line: Outstanding performance car for the dollar. Go buy one and start modifying it!!! Good luck finding a really clean one at this age. Most are well worn by now.

I can credit my cousin for introducing me to the Ford Mustang. His father owned several fine 1960-era models that I admired. Little did I know that my relationship with the Mustang would last well over a decade. I purchased an Oxford White 1991 5.0 LX ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Easy to work on, looks great, fun to drive, affordable, inexpensive to maintain,
Cons: Ford paint, minor squeaks and rattles between interior panels
The Bottom Line: Overall an excellent, dependable car. It performs, looks great, and is efficient.

I've had my 1991 Ford Mustang LX for 3 years now. I had just come off a bad relationship with an 86 Cadillac and found this rather sorry looking Mustang for sale by a private owner. I picked it up with hopes of exchanging it within a year for something...

The little pony that can

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Runs forever, cheap to modify, and light and fun.
Cons: Age equals mileage, dang hydos on the trunk hatch going bad.
The Bottom Line: Have driven all models of mustangs and own a 2006 GT, 2001, 1964 convertibles, all in perfect condition, would take my 1991 over them all!

Having driven every Mustang out there I can honestly say this one beats them all. I currently own a 2006 Mustang GT, 2001 convertible, 1964 Mustang 283HO and of coarse my true baby my 1991 LX 2.3L. Now at first glance most visitors to my extensive ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: affordable, dependable, durable
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: Great car as long as you can take care of it.

This is my first car and I love it. I got it, used, last July in Victorville, Ca. It had spent the first ten years of its life in San Diego so it was almost problem free. I just had to fix the door locks, get a new air filter, and replace a belt, and it...

5.0 GO!!!

by jillianjiggs

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: FAST, sounds great, comfortable, good looking, easy to get parts
Cons: gas mileage, back seat leg room scarce
The Bottom Line: Get the 'best bang for your buck.' One of the best years for the Mustang!

I started out with a 1989 Mustang LX Hatchback. The stang was only a 2.3 four cylinder, and had a total of 85 horses. After about six months, my boyfriend decided that he had too much fun in my car and needed one with more power. We searched for three...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent power, good workmanship, build quality.
Cons: Paint must be painstakingly cared for, if not the car will age rapidly.
The Bottom Line: If you find one that has not been owned by a kid, this is one of the most affordable Mustangs ever produced.

I've owned this Mustang for almost 12 years now. It doesn't seem that long at all. My Mustang now has 96,000 miles. The most serious problem I've had with it has been warped Ford brake rotors and warped speaker grills.
The car has allowed me to...

The ever present 1991 5.0 mustang.

by hotrodgt

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Amazing power, better handling, better interior. Overall superior for a car of that day.
Cons: Man this car still had the squishy brakes and the notchy shifter. Insurance KILLED me.
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend the 5.0 Mustang for anyone wanting to return to the times of their youth.

I purchased my first new Ford mustang in late 1990, while I already had an older four cylinder model, I just had to have the Mustang V8. My experience was that this car was a completely different animal then the 4 cylinder car, the power was amazing ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fast and cheap
Cons: Finding one in good shape can be difficult

I just recently bought a 1991 Mustang GT, Wow, this thing has some balls. Of course it was built up to be almost a drag car, but I test drove a lot of stock 5.0L Mustangs and realized that they are probably the best vehicle for speed-to-price ratio....

Pros: Best car on planet earth!!! Power up the Ying Yang! Just awesome.
Cons: None really. I don't have two or three of them :(
I purchased My GT 5.0 white Mustang in January of 2003. It is the best car I have ever owned. It handles like a dream and has the power I need. It is completely stock and I purchased it from a friend who bought it right off the dealers lot. I bought it with 43,000 miles.

If you are interested in purchasing this car.. it would be a must to make sure it has been torn into to by some under qualified mechanic. Don't settle for something that doesn't have EVERYTHING in working order!

Pros: Beautiful, dependable, fast & easy to drive. A great buy.
Cons: None
I drive a Ford Mustang that used to be a highway patrol car. Even being an older model, it was a really good buy. I love the way it handles and it is very dependable. It's also a beautiful car. I have had so many people try to buy it. Mustangs are probably the easiest cars to sell. I don't plan to ever get rid of mine. I would defenitely recommend it.
