I purchased a used 1991 Mazda 323 about a year and a half ago. It had 125,000 miles on it and seemed to be in good running order. I bought it from a woman who received it as a gift from her father after graduating high school and has been driving it ... read more

Pros: Great gas mileage, speed and efficency Cons: Lack of used parts when needed. The Bottom Line: It's a wonderfull little car for somebody who goes to college or only makes short trips.
I bought my 323, used a year ago. I have only had one serious problem with it, the one rocker went bad. I was able to salvage one from a u-pull-it center for 5 bucks!
This car is great on gas mileage and is fun to drive. I get about 40 ... read more

Pros: Excellent mileage, handles and drives well Cons: seatbelt cable problems The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this car to a buyer who wants dependable, comfortable transportation and isn't concerned with bells and whistles.
After several months of searching for a very cheap ($1500) used car, I bought this Mazda and have been delighted ever since. This car was obviously very well-maintained by the original owner; still, you would expect a few creaks and rattles out of a car ... read more

Pros: almost 40 MPG; cheap; reliable; manual is surprisingly quick and fun to drive Cons: style is dated; easily dented The Bottom Line: Super cheap but peppy transportation. If you like the looks of this car, get one. I recommend manual shift, dark color.
My wife bought this incredibly inexpensive car when she was in school. The car proved to be very reliable with awesome mileage ( more than 40 MPG on highway when tuned ). The car was surprisingly peppy -- more so than other subcompacts like the Toyota ... read more

Pros: Cheap, easy to drive Cons: Undependable, ugly
Last summer, between my dependable old Volvo and my current Camry, I made the mistake of buying a Mazda 323. This is a tiny little car that is no fun to drive. This car is a disaster. It rattles and shakes terribly. It’s so lightweight that it blew ... read more

Pros: Hauls a lot, fold down back seat, great gas mileage, great pick-up... Cons: Sometimes hard to start in rainy weather, seatbelt recall, electrical concerns...
I purchased this car from a roommate of mine when her father bought her a new car. Her father had had the car put together from 2 Mazda 323's that had been in accidents, and between the two there were parts enough to build one. I previously owned an '87 ... read more

I bought this car from a College student with only 14,000 miles on a 5 year old car. As a recent graduate myself with a family I needed a reliable and economical car. I have since put on 110,000 miles on it and have had very minimal problems...If I would ... read more

Pros: Superb quality, style, handling, fuel efficiency. The BEST CAR I`ve owned Cons: Should have at least a 1.8lt engine
I owned a 323 sport hatchback 5 doors. To date it has been the best performer I ever had in Guatemala. Its the only car I been able to accelerate in a curve. I agree it would had been better with at least a 1.8Lt engine, or best with a 2.0Lt as in a

Dependability.
Spacious.
Limited visits to mechanic. Cons: Slow. Gets ignored and passed alot.
Unnerving seeing a truck grill so close in rearview.
....Not a gas guzzler either. I got what I paid for. I purchased this little used gem(not a diamond) a couple of years ago for about $1300. It had 91k miles on it. I needed a reliable car quick and cheap. The 323 fit that bill. I've admired the little
