Pros: Sturdy Handling, good gas mileage. Cons: Electrical system, air conditioner, radiator, and other problems I could never find. The Bottom Line: Will do the job, but if you got other choices look at those first. Definitely not for the younger driver.
My whole mothers side of the family swears by the Oldsmobile name. They tell me they will never buy another type of car. So when my grandfather asked me if I wanted to drive his old one, he was the original owner, instead of the 66 dodge pickup...

Pros: A good car for everyone Cons: Driving axisle and cv boost going out, plus other two cons The Bottom Line: It's a good car for the price, it takes you from point a to point b. It may not be a modern car, but it's better than nothing.
I don't have have the '91 cutlass ciera...but, I have the 1989 oldsmobile cutlass ciera. Ok, I owned this car for the last two years, since I was 16 and this is a very good first starter car for the teenager who's just got their driver's license like I...

Pros: decent size, good handling, easy to maintain, very reliable. Cons: Not extremely attractive, often associated with grannies. The Bottom Line: If you find one in good shape, I recommend investing in it. Very few problems, easy to maintain. Roomy in front, cramped in back, simple design, simple car. Excellent.
I bought this car when i was 18 from my grandparents. Shortly thereafter, I was shipped off to basic training, and Technical school for the Air force. I was in Texas. I wanted my Car. My mom, asked my grandpa if the car was safe to drive from east ...

Pros: generic and predictable Cons: same as above
I've owned the '91 since it came out as my company car back in early 1991. As with most of the GM's I've owned over the years, performance has been less than stellar, but predictable.
As a 'second car' or for a kid's first car, you're looking...

Pros: Parts are cheap, does not burn oil, good gas mileage, cold A/C, very reliable. Cons: As with ANY 16 y/o car, little things go wrong/parts need to be replaced.
I bought this car new in '91. I have replaced the alternator, battery, electric radiator fan motor, coolant in the A/C, and driver's side power window motor and lock. Other than that, it has just required the usual maintenance. Always starts and runs. Radio and cassette player still work, but right front speaker is going bad. Fuel economy is good, it does not smoke or burn oil between changes, and I am amazed that the air-conditioning still works perfectly and is ice-cold in our Texas heat. I gave it to my 20 y/o son two years ago, and it is his daily driver to college and work. The upholstery has seat covers on it, but is still pretty good underneath. White paint is still remarkably good except for some peeling on the left side of the front bumper.
Brisk acceleration and rides smoothly on the highway. I feel I definitely got my money's worth out of this one, and I highly recommend it as basic, very reliable transportation for anyone.
