Jul 20, 2007 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Looks, Handling, Gas Mileage, Reliability, Toughness, Quality, Comfort, Trunk Space, Style, Inexpensive Upkeep, and more
Cons: Handling in rain (could be my used tires), Power is lacking with multiple passengers.
The Bottom Line: This car has served me well. I would buy one if it had less than 130,000 miles because they are inexpensive and dependable.

1991 Toyota Camry DX 4-cylinder Manual transmission. Navy Blue. 199,600 miles. This is my first and only (so far) car, I drove it in High School and my parents gave it to me when I went to college. I love driving it. About 3 years ago it started its ... read more

Pros: Incredibly reliable, sort of peppy, comfortable on long drives, roomy
Cons: Everybody drives one, starter problem, automatic seat belts, kind of boring
The Bottom Line: The Camry is a standard bearer when it comes to quality and reliability.

My mother gave me her 1991 Toyota Camry when she replaced it with a 1998 Toyota Camry. She had driven the 1991 for seven years when she gave it to me and it had less than 100,000 miles on it. I was pretty happy to have it. I drove that car from ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliable. Roomy. GREAT IN THE SNOW! Cheap repair costs.
Cons: Not the most attractive car. Somewhat boxy shape.
The Bottom Line: I personally find myself wanting another sports car. I am just that type. This is a good car. I paid way too much in a pinch for transportation though.

I have owned this car for 7 months now. I have the very basic model. No bells at all. This car is dependable. Although one day when it was extremely cold I had to have it jump-started. So if you live in the cold, make sure you have a good strong ... read more

Apr 14, 2003 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Very good bumper, good interior material.
Cons: Auto transmission is sluggish. Only average reliability. Maintenance is quite expensive and often.
The Bottom Line: Solid, durable; not very cheap to own.

Bought used from a dealer in 1999; Since then have put $3K in repair, maintenance; regular maintenance like tire, timing belt, break, rotor, air are much more often than other used cars we owned such as 1979, 1984 celica, or 1986 accord. The ... read more

Jul 25, 2002 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: power everything, quality interior finish, automatic lights, smooth & quiet ride, comfortable seats
Cons: minor cosmetic repairs, power antenna, lack of horsepower
The Bottom Line: This car is a great first car for any young person. It's reliable, attractive, and not too big or too small. A Camry is an exceptional value.

When the issue came up about a year ago of my getting my first car, it was quite an ordeal. The notion of a new car was out of the question. They did not get one when they were my age, so I certainly was not going to get one either. My mother wanted ... read more

I've been driving for over 40 years (including SCCA road racing), literally millions of miles, and have owned over 100 vehicles. My 1991 Camry DX (4 cylinder, 5-speed, no frills) is probably the best practical car (I've owned lots of impractical ... read more

The Bottom Line: I keep waiting for the day that the engine will fall out (because we have already gotten our money out of it) - but it will never happen.

My family has had our 1991 Camry since we bought it new back in late 1990. It still has the original burgundy paint with the grey interior. Ours is a 4 door, five speed manual transmission, 4 cylinder, with power windows and locks, and a ... read more

In 1990, I bought a brand NEW 1991 Toyota Camry DX edition. Camry was then emerging as one of the top selling cars in the US, and I decided not to buck the growing trend. Now almost 10 years, and 80,000 miles later, I still have no regrets on ... read more

I'm gonna drive it until the wheels fall slam off of it. And at the rate we're going, that's never going to happen! I got this car when I turned 21. Actually, it wasn't a birthday gift, it just so happened that I go it on that day. My dad ... read more
