Pros: RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY!
Car lasts and lasts and lasts.... Cons: Awkward seatbelt device, A/C Unit too big for such a little motor. The Bottom Line: Good Combination of Reliability and Value. This car is a winner when it comes to "More for Less".
I wanted to write a little about the 1991 Corolla, and it's benefits/disadvantages. I just sold mine after owning it since new, and I have many good points to consider: Benefits: A powertrain that lasts, and is not expensive to maintain. Cornering, ...

Pros: Very reliable, thrifty on gas Cons: Very light-weight The Bottom Line: A reliable, cheap car that would outlast most other cars. I've seen one with 217k miles and still running strong!
I bought my 1991 Toyota Corolla in 1999 and used it for two years. Even though it had 117k miles on it when I first purchased it, the engine sounded sweet, it had no mechanical problems in the transmission or anything else and the only thing that needed...

This 1991 Toyota Corolla All-Trac Wagon is the best car I have ever met! This little guy has never, EVER let me down---- he starts all the time, blows hot and cold air, and requires minimal maintenance, so I bring him to the dealer to get his oil ...

I had driven my 1986 Volvo 240 DL into the ground. I needed something affordable and just as dependable. A lady in my church told me that she was selling her 1991 Corolla for a measly $800!!! That afternoon I drove to her house and test drove a great...

Pros: This car had very good gas milege and the engine was great. Cons: Acceleration was somewhat slow, but it's because it's only a four cylinder. The Bottom Line: If you are shopping for a used Corolla, make sure you look around very carefully.
I bought my 1991 Toyota Corolla Lx used from a Honda dealer that sold used cars and in the seven years I have owned this car, I have never experienced any mechanical problems, except it was the day before I traded it in for another car this past July...

Pros: Great car. Sturdy and efficient. Cons: Awkward seat belts.
I bought my first car recently. A used '91 Toyota Corolla, 72,000 miles. No small feat for a woman, especially with the horror stories abounding of patronizing dealers and lemons that could suck a wallet dry.
But I love my car.
It...

Pros: Gas mileage, reliable engine, interior holds up Cons: engine is a little under powered, rides low - prone to damaging the exhaust system. The Bottom Line: Cheap car that has never left me stranded.
I bought this car for $700 at 232,000 miles knowing it needed some work. After installing a new axle, tires, brakes, rear wheel cylinders, battery and exhaust (two repairs). I would expect similar maintenance on any car after 70,000 miles.
I...
