Pros: Fast as snot, great handling, beautiful. Cons: Have to buy used, labor is expensive.
Ok first off I bought this remarkable piece of equipment because I have the need... the need for speed. And handling, and comfort, and beauty. I seriously don't understand why people say its a car built for small people, because I'm 6'0 200lbs and she...

Pros: Light, quick, nimble, "cool", good looks, turbo. Cons: Space kind of tight although my 6'1'' friend can fit in the trunk!! The Bottom Line: I definitely recommend this awesome piece of machinery because of its sexy looks, precise handling, and good overall value.
I've got the turbo model of the mr2 and it is fantastic. I used to own a 1990 300zx, (non-turbo unfo ...

Pros: unique, performance, performance, performance, styling, handling Cons: none
The 1991 MR2 is a classic sports car in its own right. Everything about the sports coupe oozes classic, from its styling to its performance. It is definitely unique and a pure joy to drive.
The MR2 was a concept that Toyota bought from...

Pros: Beautiful, impressive-looking car. Sporty, yet maintains Toyota reliability, extraordinarily reasonable price. Cons: Very little cargo space -- but, of course, you know that before you buy it. The Bottom Line: An inexpensive sporty car? That's the MR2! You don't see too many of these cars on the road, so driving the MR2 will be a special experience in many ways.
My first three cars were Toyota Corollas. Then I decided to try something different -- a Subaru XT. Although I enjoyed it and had it for about 9 years, it didn't come without problems. I decided to go back with a Toyota -- but which one? I had...

Pros: Fun! Cons: 2 seater
A great car that anyone would be glad to own!
Fast, reliable and just pure fun.
In terms of speed, the turbo is especially kick-ass. I prefer acceleration over sheer speed, and it is just a rush to be pushed back in your seat when...

Pros: Tremendous handling, power, and reliability. Cons: Iffy CD player
This is possibly the best car I will own. I can't say enough good things about it. I had a 91 Turbo charged with all the extras (Power Windows, CD, Moon Roof, etc.). I had to get rid of the car because I needed a larger vehicle for camping trips and...

Pros: Handling, Power, Reliablity Cons: transmission
If you want one of the greatest handling, looking, and just pure sports car driving experience the Toyota MR2 Turbo is for you. Sadly the production of the MKII (second generation) MR2 was discontinued on our shores in 1995 however their are lots of used...

Pros: Fast and Fun Cons: Not alot of interior space
I am a first time driver, and my testosterone got the better of me when I saw an ad for a 1991 MR2. I purchased the car for $5,000, which is low for this car. It obviously needed a little work but not much. It drives like a dream, and the bucket seats...

Pros: Power, nice touches, nice handling, nice looks Cons: Handles poorly in snow, expensive & hard-to-find parts, tops leak The Bottom Line: Buy one!
Bought a '91 NA 4 years ago for my midlife crisis. Selling it to my son so I can buy a Miata (the MR2's really too big for my taste. Hey, I owned a Fiat 600D for years. Now THERE's a car my size!) Was $1600 for a much used machine with a cheapo paint ...

Pros: Style, Handling, Performance Cons: Two Seats, High Insurance
I recently went car shopping with a friend with a $5,000 budget looking for the sportiest, best looking car we could find, and the 1991 Normally Aspirated (Non-Turbo) Toyota MR2 won hands down. MR2 stands for Mid-engined, Rear wheel drive 2...

Pros: Much bang - few bucks Cons: They don't make it anymore. The Bottom Line: Big grin to drive. All paid off.
The road twists out of sight just ahead, but you know which way it winds. Drop this little jewel down into third for this turn and you will be accelerating back up through the gears for the next series of corners, hitting fifth at the exit of the last....

Pros: Styling, Handling, Reliability Cons: not too much storage space, no cupholders The Bottom Line: If you find one in great shape, don't hesitate, BUY IT!
I've always wanted a second generation MR2. I think it's still one of the best looking cars on the road, even after 10 years. I finally gave in and bought a clean, stock 91' Turbo with about 80K miles. I have no regrets whatsoever. The car just feels...

Pros: Great looks, rarity, speedy, unbelievable handling, women love it Cons: Hard to find used, hard to put great stereo in, The Bottom Line: If you are young, dumb and full of...good times, buy this car. If you are old, grumpy and think youth has gone to hell stick with the Taurus, gramps.
I bought my MR2 just two weeks ago. I found it on AutoTrader.com and had to drive 200 miles to see it. When the owner (who had to drive 270 miles to meet me) arrived, I fell in love with the cars look immediately. Black, shiny, TSW wheels, and a...

Pros: Reliable, chick magnet, handling, fun, devoted following Cons: Harder to work on then front engine, no space, non-metallic colors can fade
I bought my 1991 MR2 about 2 years ago right before college, it is a non-turbo model and I absolutley LOVE this car. I bought it because I wanted an affordable sports car and I wasn't about to settle for anything less than rear wheel drive, midengine,...

Pros: Speed, Handling, Ergonomics, Head +Leg Room Cons: 2 seater, luggage room, requires an experienced driver
When my old 1989 Toyota Celica died a few months ago, I was in a bit of a dilemna. I had only $7500 with which to purchase a car, and I wanted to get something I would be happy with. I am 18 years old, and so I naturally wanted a fun car that was easy to...
