Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliability, comfort, sex appeal, feedback to the driver, overall ergonomics inside are perfect.
Cons: Not realizing sooner that the best cars on earth were made by Germany.
The Bottom Line: You love to drive? this car loves to be driven. Care for it and it will reward your senses in ways you didn't know a car could.

"panzer' means "tank" in German.. and thats exactly what the 1992 525i is..  its a honest to goodness TANK! I bought my 525 in 2009 and have been enjoying every mile since. This is a real drivers car. Its no BS what BMW says about their cars, they ... read more

Pros: buttery smooth engine, even with over 156,000 miles, beautifully appointed interior, good exterior looks
Cons: rather poor gas mileage (17 city/25 highway)
The Bottom Line: A wonderful blend of a quiet and luxurious ride, quick, sporty, handling and attractive interior and exterior appearance is what you can expect from a premium car such as this.

The 1992 E34 BMW 525i is a premium example of luxury, sport, and convenience. Its 2.5L Inline-6 cylinder engine delivers 189 horses and 181 foot-pounds of torque to the rear wheels through either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. The ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great engineering, safe, solid, dependable. (The 5 series is probably their best car.) Get behind the wheel and you see why it's called the Ultimate Driving Machine...
Cons: High price, repairs can be expensive, smallish trunk...

No,this is no overstatement... my 1992 5 series probably did, indeed, save our lives in a serious wreck we had some years ago. I had come to a dead stop in an intersection and we were , as racers call it, "T-boned" by a car that had slowed ... read more

This is my 2nd BMW and I must say it's been nothing but a pleasure driving it for all these years. I first bought a 318is(1991) and was a bit disappointed. A lot of things went wrong with that car. Then I stepped up to a 525 and was the best thing I had ... read more

I recently bought a black 1992 525i fully loaded with 92,000 miles. It is a gorgeous automobile; however, I got to drive it about 5 days before it overheated costing over $3500 to bring back to road worthiness. It seems that the impellers on ... read more

We had just returned from a 4 year stint overseas and two of those years we remained carless. Talk about the itch to have a new car. We had to buy two cars and fast. My husband and Father-in-Law are car fanatics they know more about a car then I would ... read more
