Pros: great gas mileage, needs little maintenance Cons: not the most muscular car ever built
To drive a Geo Metro is to wear a Badge of Honour—only the bravest of the brave need apply. It is not a perfect car. It isn’t flashy. It won’t win you any admirers. If you were looking for a prestige car, you wandered into the wrong storybook. It is...

Pros: Good for paralell parking... Cons: Slow, Leaky, Unreliable, Everything is Plastic, Hard to Get Replacement Parts, Scorn and Ridicule for your Teenaged Male
Ever been rained on or sat in a puddle in your own car? If not, you are lucky, because I drove a '92 Geo Metro Convertible for five years straight, and for the last two years I drove it, I was driving a swamp on wheels. I fell for the low gas...

Pros: Economical, practical, reliable, and sporty. Easy to drive, park, and fix. Super fun car. Cons: Very small & hard to see in traffic. Subject of ridicule in rural America. The Bottom Line: The perfect commuter/2nd car! 50 mpg, collectable, nice looking, easy to drive and fix, and well worth the small cost.
It's hard to see among (and beyond) larger traffic, though.
First: some history for those researching these cars. In mid-1990, the little Geo Metro convertible arrived in Chevy showrooms thanks to America's reborn love for little roadsters, a direct result of the Mazda Miata that had been introduced only a ...

Pros: It's reliable, affordable and gets great gas mileage Cons: Can't see around SUVs; not comfortable for tall people; loud on highway The Bottom Line: This is a great car for commuters and students. It's fun, reliable and economical. Don't let the Geo name fool you -- this is one reliable little car.
With gas prices as high as they are today, the Geo Metro LSi convertible is a fun and economical way to get to and from work. This is the car I wish I had when I was a college student -- it's cheap to drive and it's a lot of fun.
This is not...

Pros: Mechanically ok... Cons: Aesthetically awkward
When I pick out a car, I want one I wear, not drive. I don't 'push' my clothes forward and I'm not going to experience the same thing when I'm driving.
So when I test-drove a 92' Geo Storm I thought I had found it. It drove well, everything...

Pros: Value, economy, and reliability Cons: Little power, very tight cabin
Since I purchased a 1992 Metro from my sister over three years ago, I've been extremely pleased with the reliability and economical strength of the car. Regularly getting over fifty miles per gallon and having spent very little to maintain the vehicle,...

Pros: rebuttal to misinformation campaign Cons: I'm not very tolerant of misinformation
Hi folks,
One of the popular reviews on this vehicle is written by someone extremely uninformed about cars in general, and his name is "roadtripper". Not only does he lay blame on the car for simple and inexpensive repairs that he...

Pros: Doesn't use much gas. Got me to work everyday. Cons: SLOW, LOUD, LEAKY, DANGEROUS, AND TOTALLY LAME. The Bottom Line: Unless you wish to learn a lesson in humility, discover the physics of SLOW, and risk your life everytime you drive, I suggest you avoid this monstrosity.
Ugh... In between the (temporary) death of my '87 Buick Skyhawk Turbo and the purchasing of my '84 BMW 318i was a span of about 2.5 months. I had a job in a bakery in Hastings, NE (30 miles away) during this period, and I needed a way to get to work....

I got this car as a gift from a friend of mine. I had always wanted one since I was 16 and we were driving down the road one day and there it sat a 1992 Geo Metro Convertible LSI. SO I said I just want to stop and look, we ended up driving it and I was...

Pros: Great Gas Mileage, Fits anywhere, Dependable Cons: "Crushable" The Bottom Line: If you need good, cheap, well-made, reliable transportation, that can fit and go ANYWHERE then the Metro is the right car for you!!
I bought my Metro on December 1, 1999. It was basically my first car, and I bought it because I was given $1,000 to go out and buy a car with, and the Metro was about my only option. I fell in love with my baby on day one.
Over the year that...

Pros: Low total cost of ownership, high mileage, easy to maintain. Cons: Low power, flimsy interior parts
The 1992 Geo Metro XFi is the mileage king, heck, it even beats the mileage of the brand new Metros which now come with a 4 cylinder engine.
I bought this car for the low cost, high mileage and hatchback space. My mileage checks from work...

I bought my little 92 Metro in spring of 1994. Fresh out of college and looking for a good inexpensive piece of transportation.

Pros: Cheap to purchase, gas mileage, reliable. Cons: feels cheap, friends laugh at you. The Bottom Line: You want to save money? This is your car. Parts are easy to find in auto wreckers.
This is the car that started it all for me. I bought my 92 Geo metro 2dr 5 speed about 3yrs ago and I love this car to this day. It always starts for me in the morning and that is important living in Canada where you can get -37 Celsius some nights in...

Pros: Around 41mpg with the automatic trans
Handling Cons: Sense of vulnerability
Accelleration when loaded with gear The Bottom Line: Don't buy it for your teenager. However, for the adult looking to cut their gasoline consumption in half this vehicle or a new hybrid is a perfect choice.
This car has always started up for me and consistently delivered excellent gas mileage. For commuting to work or running errands around town it has been wonderful, especially when available parking spots are short or narrow. Okay, so the body integrity...
