Pros: Very versatile vehicle, goes anywhere, does anything. Loves to tow. Reliable.
Cons: Leaked 1qt oil per 3k miles or more.
The Bottom Line: I want another one. Same year, same model, less miles.

I'm saddened to report that my venerable white '92 Jeep Cherokee, once upon a time known as "The Geek Jeep", is on it's last few miles. Two weeks ago it began running a little rough. It did better over that weekend after having the fluids (including ... read more

Takes a lickin' and then a butt kickin, but it's still tickin'

Aug 4, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Acceleration, power, hauling, comfort.
Cons: Gas mileage, very little leg room in the back seat.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone who can deal with the gas mileage, a very safe car for everyone, but too much power for irresponsible teens.

My Cherokee Laredo has been sorta been passed through parts of my family. I got it from my dad who bought it from my uncle who got it from his father-in-law. The first owner got it as a daily commuter since he was retired, and then sold it to my uncle ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Relaiable, really versitile, excellent visability
Cons: Gas mileage
The Bottom Line: Just knowing that i know i can go anywhere at anytime is great.Other than having a weak horn, which i upgraded, and bad gas milage, no complaints from me.

Looks tough, the next best thing to the original Jeep. A very good offspring to the Wagoneer. The 4.0L engine sucks gas but can fly. Unlimited Visability practically. The 4 wheel drive is one of the best on the market, even for an older ... read more

Pros: The 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo is built tough, and is a safe vehicle!
Cons: drinks gas, leaky oil gaskets, and breaks wear easily.
The Bottom Line: The 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo is a safe and dependable SUV because it is built to be tough.

I can proudly state the 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo is an exceptionally sound automobile. It is built to endure anything, which is hard to find these days. I have owned this Jeep for several years and throughout this time, experienced a few leaky ... read more

Good used car

Jun 2, 2001 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliability
Cons: Body, handling
The Bottom Line: Overall, quite happy with car (not so with local Jeep dealer who on one occasion said car needed $1700 of repairs..diagnosis not borne out by other independent mechanics).

We moved to a rural area with nasty winters and quickly found a 4WD was necessary to even get out of our driveway. I bought our Sport at 4 years ago from a private owner who had taken very good care of the (oil change every 3000 mi, stored indoors etc. ... read more

O.K. let me start with a tale of a Jeep Cherokee Sport that we own, We also own a Ford F-150 but for all around functionalbility the jeep is a little bit nicer for our family because of the room and the whole vehicle being enclosed, and for hauling dogs, ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Peppy V6, Classy Laredo Package, Nice Wheels
Cons: Steering of a Tank, Chugs gas like a college kid at a frat party
The Bottom Line: This is an enduring automobile because it has all of the traits of a good SUV, but with small quality problems and bad gas mileage.

Well, there's the Cherokee. Fixed in everyone's mind. The unchanged, unspoiled soul of the American SUV. It has been around for more than twenty years, and will probably be around for years to come. An American fixture... dare I say icon? Well, it ... read more
