Pros: very useful for loading large cargo, reasonably priced, nice interiors Cons: outside molding paint easily chips off
My very first vehicle is a Mitsubishi Montero. I bought it in 1992 and I still use it for everyday commute. I can honestly say that the vehicle takes care of you if you take good care of it. Al though now I can afford another vehicle I still keep it...

Pros: Solid SUV, good onroad and off. Good looking too. Cons: Rollovers a definite possiblity. The Bottom Line: I only gave it a four in each category, because it isn't a perfect car. But as far as 10 year old cars go it's real close.
This is the car that I've been rolling in for a few years now and I'm telling you that it is one sweet SUV. My dad originally bought it for $8,000 and I am buying it off him for $4,000.
Personally, mine is black (with tinted windows) and it's...

Pros: Very,Very reliable. Decent parts prices and lots of room Cons: Under powered for the weight, gas mileage The Bottom Line: Does all that I want, on road and off-road. Holds all of our stuff, with lots of neat storage space hidden around.
I bought my '92 Montero used ,with appox. 152,000 miles on it in Jan. 2003. Almost 50,000 miles later here in May 2007 I still love it as much as the first year I owned it. It always gets me where we want to go, holds larger items than I thought ...

Pros: Hard-working, extremely dependable, good looks and styling Cons: paint on trim chips easily The Bottom Line: This is the most reliable, most comfortable car I have owned or driven. I like the size, the power, the handling. I would definitely buy another one.
We bought this car new and hope it lasts another 10 years. Other than regular maintenance - oil changes, battery, tires, etc - this car has NEVER been in the repair shop. It has over 100,000 miles on it. It still looks great (other than a few paint...

Pros: Awesome offroad capability. Super dependable. Cons: Fuel economy of about 16 city /20 hwy.
We bought our 1992 Montero used back in 1998 for about $4,500. It had a shade under 100k on it. It has been from coast to coast and over the highest vehicular pass in North America with no problems. These SUV's are a well kept secret. They are super dependable, comfortable to drive and will go anywhere you want to take them.
Our "Monty" is pushing 200k miles now and still going. Regarding maintenance, we have had the valve stem seals replaced, the switches in the 4x4 transfer case were all replaced last year and we will have to have the A/C system fixed this year.
A great SUV without a doubt. I would recommend the 1992 Montero to anyone considering it. We plan on keeping ours forever.
