Wonderful Car While It Lasted...

by nathanmcarlson

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Engine will run forever if cared for! Still looks slick after all these years.
Cons: Trunk hinges tend to break, electrical problems develop with age.
The Bottom Line: A great car- sporty, reliable, and fun to drive. If I had the money I would buy another (but probably a more sporty GT model).

Every Car Has A Story... I admit there was a lot of sentimental value attached to this car. It was my wife's car when we first met, then mine for the last six years of our married life. Unfortunately it threw a rod at 180,000 miles and ...

The fifth generation of the Toyota Celica ran from 1990 to 1993. During this time, Toyota released six different models to the United States. Ranging from least to most expensive, is the ST coupe, then the GT coupe; following that is the GT Liftback, th ...

Pros: Styling, handling, excitement
Cons: Electrical system
The Bottom Line: Get one, and fall in love with driving :)

After my previous car was rear-ended & totalled by a high-school boy who failed to stop at a red-light, I had to find a car... Well, after some research and advice, decided I wanted a Celica. Searched all over for just the right one. Finally, found...

Pros: Wonderful ride, quality, safety features
Cons: none.

Airbags work. Seatbelts work. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. When I was involved in a head on collision last spring I am confident that my 1992 Celica's safety equipment and the quality of the car itself saved me from any injury. Aside from a...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Driving ease, comfort, Instrumentation, solid feel, resale value
Cons: small spare

Bought 92 Celica, used, because wife's 86 still running strong and trouble free except for periodic maintenance. With 126,000, mainly highway mileage, felt it will get over 200,000 without major problems. Used for short hauls, about 5-7000 yearly,...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great styling, great handling, sporty and fast.
Cons: Not for your average driver

First, let me say that this car is gorgeous! Without fail, every time I have driven this car with the top down, someone compliments me on my car. Even with the top up, the car still stands out. It is jet black, with a light gray interior. Truth of...

Pros: sporty appearance, great reliability

The Celica is a great little car! I Bought it with 50,000 miles and it's just like new. The Celica is an inexpensive way to get into the convertible you've always wanted. Good pick up and handling. Celica is a bit noisy, but that's allowed in a sporty...

Hi all,

1992 Toyota Celica GT 2.2L-Amazing Car

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Engine, Transmission, Everything
Cons: Rust on the parts i like to mess with
This is my first car. I bought with it with 169600 miles on it in november of last year. Since then I've put over 11,000 miles on it. 7,000 of those miles have been at speeds of 80mph or above. This engine simply wont break. I crashed this car into multiple objects at decent speeds and have never needed to get it repaired by a professional. It is a stunning car and as hard as i try every day to break it, each morning it starts up and hums ready to take on a new day.
This car hit 126mph without the limiter, burned through a set of tires and has put up a admirable fight against every car to ever race it. The clutch is still perfect and the 5speed manual transmission is perfect.
Ive taken apart the entire interior from the firewall back, the whole front of the car and the entire brake system. Played with it and put it back together with screws. It still works. I honestly cant say what it is about this car but each time something happens to it, it makes it better.
It also wont flip. Ive tried.

Still Going!

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: fast, gas efficient, reliable, trunk space, heavy, well-made, roomy engine, manouverability
Cons: small back seat, a bit noisy, low to the ground, two-door
This is really wonderful for a used car. I bought mine 3 years ago and it's needed little other than routine car maintenance. Mine has 250,000 and it's still going strong! It gets decent gas mileage, especially highway mileage and fast acceleration for a 4 cyl. It manouvers wonderfully and is very easy to control. Lots of trunk space for its size, although little room in the back seat. This is a great car for a younger couple, or person, especially if he/she does a lot of highway driving.
