Pros: Driving enjoyment, reliability.
Cons: Sux in the snow

I will skip all the official general info on the car since it has nothing to do with my opinion or experience with the car.

I've owned the car for about 2.5 years now and have enjoyed (almost) trouble-free performance from it. The car has over...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent performance, fun to drive, good engineering, holds value
Cons: Expensive to repair, rear seat doesn't fold down
The Bottom Line: This is about the best value you can get when looking for a used sports sedan

I purchased a gold '93 325i 4 door automatic three years ago with 74,000 miles on it (I have since brought it up to 122,000 miles). The car was well cared for, garaged at home and at work. This car handles great, is very predictable, and has pretty ...

Pros: Reliable, Long lasting engine, like new at 160,000 KM
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Engine Power, Looks, Comfort, Relability, go for it !

I have 2 325s in my family, one 4 dr 325i, one 2dr 325IS. The cars were pricy when I bought them. But after close to 8-9 year of ownership, and having put over 200,000 KM on them, I will have to say that these were the most reliable cars ever ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great Motor, Affordable Luxury
Cons: Quirky Electronics, BMW drivers are dicks?
The Bottom Line: If you like the couple get the 325is. If you like the 4 Door get a 325i with the Winter Driving Package.

The 3 series is a great car. It's comfortable, sporty has a great motor (both 318 4 cylinder and 325 6 cylinder). Now which to get. This is the first year of the E36 model year that took over the previous E30 line. A tad roomier. A tad heavier....

Pros: BMW cachet, superior driving dynamics--the best used car ever!
Cons: Um...well, you'll have to get back to me on this one...
The Bottom Line: Don't pass up the cnance to own one of these babies!

I've been in the market for a small car to turn into a weekend-racer for quite some time. Although I own three Audis I love (an S4, an A4, and a TT), I wasn't willing to tear them up and compromise thier original greatness by modifying them. So, one...

Cons: one of the best rear wheel drive cars, but be careful during heavy snow...
The Bottom Line: One of the best sports cars I have driven, if you are a sports car person then this car is for you.

There are several different kinds of cars, you have sport cars, luxury cars, minivans, and SUV's. Personally I am a luxury car type of guy, I loved my audi 100, and am looking at getting a BMW 5 series pretty soon. But back to this car, if you are into...

Pros: The ultimate driving machine
Cons: little back seat space

a 1993 325is was my first car. We got it used from Carmax and I've loved it ever since. This car handles like a dream. The alignment has never been off, and it tracks wonderfully. The shifting is very precise and the clutch, although a little heavy...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: speed, efficient, gas milage
Cons: poor leg room, bumpy ride, lack of trunk space.

I found my 1993 BMW 325i on a used car lot. It had 60,000 miles and was in good condition. It is quick, efficient, easy to drive and great on long distance interstate driving. It has a leather interior, power windows, seats, sun roof, a great sound...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great look, BMW quality, excellent handling.
Cons: Head gasket, expensive pieces
The Bottom Line: Fun to drive, very fun to drive. I would go now for a 325 or a 328 (bigger engine) because the 1.8 liter is a little bit "lazy".

Before having a BMW 318i, I had a 1992 Toyota Camry. It had the power, but handling was 0%. My uncle bought a 325i and I took it for a ride. THIS WAS AMAZING! I could drive it like a go-kart! I fell in love with this car and few months later I bought a...

Pros: styling, performance
Cons: trunk, matenence costs

My wife and I bought this green '93 325i as a BMW Certified car in 1996 and have been generally happy. Lack of traction control took a little getting used to in the winter and the expense of scheduled matenence was a little suprising. That being said,...

'93 318I BMW Reliable engine, Glitchy electronics
by artestrada
Aug 18 '06
Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: good performance (if maintained), styling, gas mileage...it's a looker
Cons: It seems everyone has one now? glitchy electronics, repairs will add up, display fails
I owned BMW all through out the 80s and loved them for the performance and handling not for the image but that's free too. BMWs rep is earned not bought through marketing like other car makers. The last '93 I bought had high miles but beamer run for ever if you take car of them. This last one last 2 years and got up to 190,000 miles. I didn't pay much for it initially but kept repairs up. The thing I hated the most was the glitchy electronics and the speedometer, actually the whole display will go out eventually. After talking to a wrecking yard they said it happens to all of them. The 90s seem great but not like the flawless years of the 80 engineering. That's my bit get one if older for a great deal but watch those electronics and expect to replace the disk rotors ($500 ea front & rear)and possibly A arms (about 1K with labor) and the damned display that goes on and off and eventually will die.

93 BMW 318is- Becareful of what you purchase
by hd7crash
Mar 16 '05
Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: gas mileage, retains value, lots of features, sporty look, handles great, cheap insurance
Cons: be careful not to buy one that is beat up, its expensive to repair
I purchased a used 93 318is, the car seemed to be in good condition even though it had 111000mi, i drove it a few times and decided that it would be a good idea to purchase it. After about two weeks, i noticed that the car would start to overheat. Turns out that there was a crack in the block. After rebuilding the engine and spending 1600 dollars. the car turned out to be wonderful. i fixed up the car and am still driving it to this day. the car handles like a dream and even after the odometer reads 135000mi. i dont plan on gettin rid of the car anytime soon. I do recommend buying one of these but make sure that it is in good condition, have a mechanic look at it
