Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: super reliable.
Cons: Not the prettiest car on the lot.

Will my 1993 Ford Tempo EVER die?

That is the question I ask myself frequently. I told myself that I would keep this car, and drive it until it won't let me drive it anymore.

I bought this car almost six years ago, when my...

Pros: Roominess, streamlined look, power like a larger engine, excellent gas mileage, comfort on trips.
Cons: Frequent, expensive repairs. Exterior paint loss. Light weight - hard to handle in strong wind.
The Bottom Line: Not a very dependable car. Constant repairs needed. I would not buy one. Have heard lots of bad, not much good, recommendations. It has cost a fortune to own.

My mother passed away in 2003, leaving me her '93 Tempo. As she was blind and kept the car only for someone to drive her to the doctor and the grocery, it only had 30,000 miles on it. it looked much older, with it peeling clear coat and faded paint on ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Cheap, Reliable
Cons: Bad Seats, Controls, Not so roomy

I have had my Tempo for about a year, and I really like it. There are many parts that I don't like, but there is something about this Tempo that I like. I have found this to be a very reliable car. I don't think that I've taken it in much, and some of it...

Pros: Wonder car, good gas mileage, fun to drive
Cons: none

This is a wonderful car. I bought mine as a used car and it was still in wonderful shape it has way over 100 thousand miles on it and it still runs like a dream. This car doesn't require much maintnence. Does good on gas, and oil. Has good "get up...

Pros: Fits 3 carseats in the back
Cons: Expensive to repair a 6 cylinder

My husband and I own a 1993 Ford Tempo 4 door that we purchased new. My husband, who can never have enough power, got the optional 6 cylinders over the standard 4 cylinders, power steering, power brakes, power locks, power mirrors.....you get the...

This epinion is for my girlfriend's 1993 Red Ford Tempo. Rest assured, I have driven it on several occasions, so I am qualified to be the author of this epinion.

She purchased her Tempo just a few months ago at an area dealer for around...

Decent little car!

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Decent gas mileage, reliability, good pickup for class.
Cons: Low seats, droopy suspension
The Bottom Line: They're 12 years old. Be wary, but good transportation if you can get them at a decent price.

When I was a junior in high school, my parents had an old 1988 Ford Tempo as an extra, for me to drive. I loathed the little car, and when I was a senior, was looking at getting something else, newer and more reliable. This was 1997. My only hope was ...

Pros: functional transportation
Cons: tiny interior built for tiny people

No, I'm not a princess.

But a few years ago, my parents decided to buy me a new
car. Since they were trading in my Escort, they wanted
to stick with a Ford product--and I was ready to go
for something a little bigger, with 4...

Please don't even consider Tempo

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 1.0 Recommended: No

Pros: cheap & a learning experience
Cons: unreliable & gives a driver a lot of worries going on long drives.
The Bottom Line: If you have money buy a new car, if you don't much money, still don't buy Ford Tempo, get something else!

We have bought this car in Feb, 2001 and kept for 9 months.
Because the car was really cheap, the car has been working satisfactorily. But the car requires maintenance every months causing minor problems here and there.

The car has 91,000...

Pros: Somewhat reliable
Cons: Windows, Cruise, A/C breaks often

I bought a '93 Ford Tempo 3 years ago for $3,000. Its A/C didn't work and I haven't tried to repair it. When I bought it, it had $54,000 and now it has a little bit over $90,000. So far the biggest problem with it was the electrics. Cruise control would...

Pros: large trunk
Cons: safety of the occupants in this vehicle is very questionable
The Bottom Line: I think this was a joke played by Ford Motor Company

Its been several years since I've owned this vehicle but I can remember very vividly what it was like to own it. Even after 13 years its hard for me to believe that these cars are still on the road. My dad an I were the only owners of ours. He bought it ...

It's Tempo Time =D

Aug 18 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Reliability, Gas Mileage, Acceleration, Good Clutch.
Cons: NO ABS, cramped backseat area, no rear window defroster.
The Bottom Line: If you want a great used car without the worries, this car is the one for you. 5 years dormant and A/C cold as ice!

Wow, this car was an absolutely outstanding car for me and I wish I would have never traded it in. It was a 1993 Ford Tempo coupe with a manual transmission I had bought late last year. When I first looked at it, noticing the hail damage and the dents ...

Pros: Nice looking
Cons: runs bad, Lemon
The Bottom Line: Avoid at all costs, You're better off riding a bike.

I bought the Ford Tempo in June of 2001 and its been a lemon sence I pulled it off the lot. The engine makes a terrible noise and it gets VERY BAD gas milage. The alternator broke three times! The car looks somewhat nice, and I'm suprised Ford even ...

Surprised it still runs

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Decent mileage, the "tune-up" items under the hood are easy to get to
Cons: Only one inconveniently-placed 'cupholder', chintzy plastic pieces breaking and/or melting
The Bottom Line: Buy only if in a pinch and need for a short period of time. Otherwise, I'd go for an import.

I bought a '93 2-door Tempo (black exterior, grey interior) in Sept. 2002 with 79k miles on it. When I bought it, the paint was still in decent shape (not showroom, mind you) and the interior was in great shape. I've been tracking my gas mileage on a ...

Just Your Average Joe of A Car

Oct 25 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Enough Room, Enough Power, Good Options
Cons: Not excellent at anything.
The Bottom Line: Average, average, average.

I would not ever do this again. The car had a lot of dumb little problems from Day 1. Luckily there was a warranty, but now there wouldn't be.
The options were skimpy, when they worked. The wipers had an attitude and the defroster was not that even...
