Pros: appearance, interior room Cons: mechanical problems
My family owns a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo. The car was originally bought in Texas, and then spent the next couple of years in California, before it is moved to its current location in Louisville, KY.
Since the car was originally bought in a warm...

Pros: An affordable SUV that doesn't suck down gas. Cons: Not going to out-run Granny's Cadillac anytime soon. The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this because it's affordable, reliable and lots of fun to drive.
Without going into a lot of background information, lets just cut right to the chase: I bought a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo a couple of months ago and have been enjoying it ever since.
This vehicle is a sport utility vehicle...

Pros: Roomy, good 4WD, fun to drive Cons: Burns oil, reliability, GAS MILEAGE! The Bottom Line: Good mid size SUV, but quality and reliability issues are common.
This review will differ from the normal Rodeo review, as I have modified mine quite a bit. I purchased this truck August of 2001 to replace my old beater jeep. It had 128K miles on it. This was to be a 2nd vehicle for me to drive when needed.

Pros: all terrain, plenty of room, winter drive Cons: 16/19 mpg, several repair issues
I got my 1993 Isuzu Rodeo LE for graduation from college in May 1995. It was bought 2 years used with roughly 42,000 miles. This was my first truck/SUV and 4WD vehicle. I had always wanted one since high school and finally got one.
When...

Pros: Lots of Room for kids luggage and toys as wells as ours! Cons: Not good to drive in high wind conditions! The Bottom Line: My husband and I love our Isuzu Rodeo. It is dependable, has the room we need for our family, and works like a pickup when we need to haul something.
We got our 1993 Isuzu Rodeo this past July because my husband's car cratered on the side of the road. My husband wanted a pickup so he could haul things to the junk yard, but I wanted something we could take the family in as I didn't want to just hav ...

Pros: Very Dependable, Great in the snow (4WD). Cons: Poor Gas Mileage, A few mechanical problems.
I purchased this vehicle in December of 1993 in New York. I have ALWAYS wanted a 4WD vehicle and since the Isuzu was the cheapest on the market, I went for it. Despite a few mechanical problems I have had with the vehicle, to this day, I still absolutely...

Pros: It's still running Cons: no cupholders, bad ergonomics, and every electric motor in it is JUNK! The Bottom Line: The car I loved to hate, the car I hated to love!
I bought my isuzu used in 94. Motortrends car of the year in 93!
within 36 months I replaced the starter(twice) computer(warranty) wiper motor, serpentine belt, tachometer sensor and clutch (1400bucks!). This was far and away the worst piece of...

Pros: Room, 4wheel drive, Winter Drive, Appearance, LOVE IT Cons: MPG, wind resistance, set up of back gate opening isnt good for short people The Bottom Line: I would buy another rodeo, maybe not one thats 14 years old. Worth the expenses for the foreign parts when it needs replacing.
I got this car under a year ago. I love its look. Unofortunatly the gas milaege is no good. I have already spent over 500 dollars in repairs, between 3 exhaust leaks, one being in the flex pipe. I had to have my surpentine belt replaced. and a few other ...

Pros: Fantastic Adventure truck! Great in the snow, off road, hwy driving, etc... Cons: No cup holders!
25 more hp. but at 190k miles, I guess that's expected.
I have a red '93 Isuzu Rodeo, 3.2l, v6, 4x4, LS. I bought it from a dealer for a great deal with 26,000k miles and it now has 190k . I was a bit concerned that the transmission would go at just over 100k but she's still kickin'. I love this truck. I'm getting 17-18mpg ave, fantastic in the snow, pulls my boats and is actually working fine as my commuter car thru San Francisco.

Pros: Tough, Reliable, 4wd all-terrain, awesome in snow, good V6 power, fun to drive Cons: gas mileage is terrible, ride is harsh, somewhat noisy
This car is 14 years old, has 180,000 miles, original clutch, tranny, and valve gear, and it has NEVER failed to start or get home. If you leave it alone and don't take care of it, it will run rough, but it never quits. Gas mileage sucks though, and if you don't use enough or the correct type of oil there is quite a bit of lifter noise, but its not detrimental to the car. This truck is a tough, fun, and reliable old steed that I would recommend to anybody in a second.

Tough SUV, but avoid accessories

Pros: Inexpensive, high-quality interior materials Cons: Bad electrical components. Avoid electric windows
I bought my used Rodeo for a bargain price five years ago. The good: I saved big bucks because it is a 2WD and has a 5-speed stick. Soccer moms don't like to shift gears.
The bad: It rides like a truck. The electrics break easily. It is not fast.
The rest of the good: It is tough. It does not break. The interior materials are high-quality -- with 130,000 miles on it, the interior shows no wear at all. And best of all, it is one of the least-expensive used SUVs you can buy.
More good: My wife rear-ended a guy, and broke the expensive steering box on the Rodeo. But junkyard parts are plentiful, and I bought a perfect used box for a tenth of the price of a new one.
More bad: The master control for the electric windows died. So did the control for one of the rear windows. So did the turn-signal switch. None of these parts were cheap.

Pros: Fast V6
Dependable
lots of room
no major repairs Cons: Not the greatest gas mileage
I had a 93 Isuzu Rodeo that was a great car.
It was my sister's car until it was totaled in a car accident. The damage wasn't that bad so I bought it from the insurance company and fixed it up, and it ran great for a year with no problems. I was then in an accident wear it rolled almost 2 times, me and two other passengers walked out of it with a ONLY few scratches. What else can I say about this car, I wish I still had it! I would definetly buy another one.
