In late July of 1993, I was almost 8 months pregnant, big as a house, and stressed over the impending arrival of our little bundle of joy. At the time, I was driving a 1986 Ford Mustang, a car which fit the image of the new college graduate that...

Pros: Engine Power, Vehicles Stock Height, Driver Seat Headroom and Affordability (a low priced SUV)
Cons: Mileage not the best, rear doors, rear legroom, no rear headrests OR drink holders =)
The Bottom Line: 16 months experience - give my experiences and let buyers know that I only rate this vehicle as average to date. Would recommend, but with hesitation!

Bought on Oct. 16, 2004....this 11 year old Jeep is in rather decent condition for having approx. 95,000 miles. First...to put things in perspective, I am coming from a 1998 Toyota Avalon XL (which I have rated here on epinions) with less than 40,000 ...

Pros: Nice creature comforts, nice styling of the body
Cons: has some problems that all 93 Jeeps have
The Bottom Line: Bottom line, if you can pickup one of these now in 2003 for under $3500.00 with reasonably low mileage, it's definately worth it.

I bought this 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee second hand at 140,000 miles. It rides like a dream, and seems to handle as well as my neighbors caddilac. Unfortunately all 93 JGC have some inherriant problems across the line and they are now showing their ugly ...

Pros: Looks snappy, handles well in inclement weather, great heater/AC, fair hauling room, all the monitoring systems
Cons: poor gas mileage (13-15 mpg city), truck-like ride, not much people room, short seat belts

There comes a time when we all must let go of a BAD car and invest in a (hopefully) better one. Our time for a better car came when we bought a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.I was driving a 1988 Ford Taurus (which deserves another BAD article of it's...

Pros: VERY SPACIOUS, GREAT FOR CAMPING, AND THE SEATS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE.
Cons: HAS ALOT OF PROBLEMS AFTER 100,000 MILES!
VERY SPACIOUS, ALSO VERY GOOD FOR LONG TRIPS ESPECIALLY WITH KIDS. IF YOU LOVE S.U.V.'S THAT ARE BIG BUT NOT TOO BIG THIS IS THE WAY TO GO, THIS VEHICLE HAS ROOM AND AT THE SAME TIME SMALL ENOUGH TO DRIVE AROUND MY SMALL TOWN. WHILE THIS S.U.V. HAS ALOT TO OFFER IT ALSO HAS LET ME DOWN. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE WITH 140,000 MILES ON IT AND IT RAN GREAT AT THE DEALERSHIP, BUT ONCE I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP I HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH, THE BATTERY, AND THE FUEL GASKET. IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL MONTHS AND I AM NOW HAVING TO REPLACE SOMETHING ELSE AND I HAVE ABSOLUTLEY NO IDEA WHAT IT COULD BE, EVERY MORNING I GO OUTSIDE AND HAVE TO WAIT AT LEAST AN HOUR BEFORE MY VEHICLE WILL START, AND JUST THIS MORNING IT WOULD NOT EVEN CRANK. SO OVERALL THERE ARE PRO'S AND DEFINATELY CON'S WHEN IT COMES TO THIS VEHICLE.

Pros: Power. Hauling. Comfort. Dependable.
Cons: Spare tire inside. Power window regulators wore out too fast (too many drive up windows).
Bought this gem new in 1993. Was asked over and over by friends to sell it to them. We bought a 2007 this year but kept the 93. I think it is just broke-in with 219,000. We have used it for what it is made. Driven up mountain trails, river beds, the White Rim trail, in snow and water, mud, and sand. I have noticed some rust points around the top fender wells and quarter panels, and a spot at the bottom of the rear hatch, but I think we can slow that normal rust wear and tear. The engine still runs well, no smoke, and still good HP from the V8. Change the oil every 3K and I think we will hang on to this one for many more years. I hope our 2007 lasts as long.

Pros: Dependable as the day is long.19 city, 22 highway. Easy to repair.
Cons: I've become attached and can't let go.
I have owned my 93 Grand Cherokee for 9 years, I purchased it with 90,000 miles and it now has 240,000+. It has done everything I've ask of it without ever leaving me sitting. Two thirds of the miles I've driven have been pulling a boat and she hasn't minded at all. Would I buy another? I've since purchased a 97, my brother has a 94, my niece has a 94, my brother in law has a 95. Enough said.
