Pros: super reliable, excellent gas mileage Cons: Paint job needed replacement after two years of ownership The Bottom Line: As long as you give this car proper preventive care, it will be a loyal friend.
I bought my white 1993 Plymouth Sundance when I was fresh out of high school, and needed a reliable vehicle when I moved away from home. After looking around at different car dealerships, the Sundance seemed like the best deal for the money. I...

Pros: Looks Really Cool :) Cons: Needed a new transmission :( The Bottom Line: Awesome and extremely fun to drive!
This car is really fast if you get the V-6 duster model. The top speed is 120 "unless you remove the govener then it is even faster!" I have raced some low end camaros and won! The car looks sporty as well. With the spoiler and tinted windows you'll...

Pros: Hatchback, Compact-size, No blind spots, Low Maintenance Cons: Recent Transmission issues. A/C never worked. The Bottom Line: It will be an extremely sad day when this car finally gives up. I can't imagine owning a better car. I absolutely love it.
My mother bought this car in 1996, 3 years used with only 19000km's (11500miles) on it. The air worked for maybe the first 2 weeks then gave out.
Other than that, there have not been any problems with this car since. I bought the car off of...

Pros: It is a good car and hardly ever needs repairs Cons: The air only works on high and we have had the air fixed more than once
Plymouths are very reliable cars. Sundances are no exceptions. This car has decent pick up. It is a little sporty looking and in my opinion, very cute. The car handles pretty well and is easy to repair at home. The car has rarely been in the shop,...

Pros: Great Mileage, Reliability Cons: Nothing The Bottom Line: Can't get a better car for the price.
I've owned a few used cars in my time, and I always end up getting the same thing. Someone else's problems. For one example, view my rating of the Ford Tempo. But this car has been different. My sister and I both own sundances and they've both been...

Pros: Minimal repair, good maneuverability Cons: Could be more comfortable
I have driven a '93 Plymouth Sundance for about three years and have been more than satisfied with its performance. True, it doesn't have the power of a larger, more expensive vehicle. But for its price range it is a treasure.
Repairs have...

Pros: Good handeling Cons: Not much power, engine tends to suck up junk
I was 18 years old, and my first car died on me all together. My family had just moved out of town, and I lived 7 miles to work. I needed a car. After searching around franticly, I was quite happy to find a 1993 Plymouth Sundance at a Jim Click...

Pros: Reliable. Cons: Chicks don't dig it. The Bottom Line: Cheap, reliable, good.
I'll just get right down to it on this car. . . I've had it for 5 years, got it used, and cheap, less than $2000, and it hasn't failed me yet. The engine is reliable, as are all of it's major functioning parts. It gets great gas mileage, upwards of 40...

Pros: Good on gas, good size, good runner Cons: Some exclusive mechanical issues The Bottom Line: It will run forever and the gas mileage is great!
Three months ago I bought this car. It is 14 years old with only 42,000 miles on it, and it is the best car I have owned in years. When the opportunity came up to buy a car far under the value I could not pass it up. There were some issues that needed ...

Pros: Cheap Cons: Unreliable, uncomfortable, poorly equipped The Bottom Line: Why would you want to punish yourself with this car, there are so many more options out there.
We purchased this car new. Manual transmission, no air, no radio, just basic transportation.
The car ran fine for about 20,000 miles, then all hell broke loose.
Head gasket blew, rear shocks started leaking, front breaks were gone...

Pros: runs very well Cons: paint job is dying The Bottom Line: The 1993 Plymouth Sundance is a very reliable car and it is perfect for running errands around town.
My parents bought a 1993 Plymouth Sundance for me in 1996 and I still have it today in 2001. It has been a very reliable car, and it was the perfect size for the type of driving I did as an active high school student. Now, it still fills my needs as a...

Pros: Reliability!!! Cons: a bit on the small side for a family with small children.
My husband and I purchased a 4 door automatic 1993 Sundance back in January. It had just over 100,000 miles on it when we bought it. So far we are very pleased! For a 10 year old car, it has held up wonderfully. Yes, as with any used car, we have had to do some minor repairs. We fixed the air conditioner, got new tires, and a new battery. Right now it needs new rear brakes but of course, that is normal wear and tear.
We bought this car for several reasons....primarily we needed a 4 door car, and we needed one that was cheap but reliable. And reliable it is! It handles well both on dry and wet pavement. It turns well and is very maneuverable. And of course a big plus for me was that it is automatic. It is not the most comfortable car in the world....but you can't expect TOTAL comfort in a non-luxury car. Overall, I'd highly recommend this car to anyone, as long as you find one that has been taken car of and properly maintained!
