1994 Integra GS-R: Japanese Wind-Up Doll

by GetUpThere
Sep 07 '00 - Updated Sep 11 '00

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great handling, braking; good power, storage; bulletproof Honda reliability; a glutton for punishment
Cons: A few bugs; no torque; they'll steal your wheels; hot car - literally; crank up the disco and look like a teenager

This car has been a true champion in the face of adversity. I bought it at a year old with about 12k miles, while living in Wisconsin (big stretch for an LA native). The day we picked it up involved driving back over 100 miles, much of it through the...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Longevity, great brakes, tight steering, hugs the road, low maintenance, good mileage, reliable
Cons: The Acura Service Department! Some problems with the manual transmission, not great visibility
The Bottom Line: This car is great for a couple with two children or less or for an individual. It is highly reliable with few maintenance problems.

I purchased my four door Acura Integra new in 1994 for $17,000 which included taxes and license. It is a bare bones vehicle with manual transmission, air conditioning and no frills whatsoever. I am the only owner of this car and it has 106,000 miles on...

Still a blast to drive

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Engine, transmission, handling, reliability, comfort
Cons: Stock tires, oil filter location

I bought my 1994 Acura Integra GS-R 4-door sedan because it had everything I was looking for at the time - performance, comfort, economy, and reliability. I'm driving the same car more than 6 years and 96,000 miles later because all those factors are...

For the price, the best car ever made

by waynepreston

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Big trunk, four doors. The best brakes, engine, shifter, streering, seats, quality, durability, economy!
Cons: They don't make them anymore!
The Bottom Line: Buy, but try to find one from original owner - these are popular among the boy-racers!

Warning: long and boring! But I'm finally going to put down what I've been thinking about all these years... I've always been a car guy. My oldest sister let me help her build models of the hot cars of the early sixties. I still remember the sheen of ...

They shouldn't have stopped making them!

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Affordable, Reliable, Sporty, Fun, Quality, Fuel Economy, Power
Cons: Space
The Bottom Line: This is a superb car for virtually anyone, unless you are 6'6" or something.

The 94' Integra, or Teg as its known... This was one of Honda/Acrua's best cars, in my opinion of course. This car was of such a good design they continued making them all the was up until 2001. That is a long reign in the world of autos. Its ...

Great first car!

by integra_47
Feb 04 '03 - Updated Feb 05 '03

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Car is sporty, and economical!
Cons: Back seat not comfortable for larger persons.
The Bottom Line: This car is great for everyday driving, or Import lover who wants to fix up his/her ride like they want. Gas mileage great, sporty feel, no mechanical problems! Perfect!

My Integra is just as great as I hoped it to be. I've never had any problems that are out of the ordinary. The only things I've had done to the car is the routine oil changes and check-ups, and I've also added some after-market wheels along with a...

An Old Timer That Still Looks Modern

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, Reliability, Design, Fuel Efficiency, Handling, and it's Honda!
Cons: These get stolen frequently. Other than that, NOTHING!
The Bottom Line: The Best car for its year and price! Honda/Acura Reliability for sure

The Acura Integra kept a consistent body style from 1994 - 2001. It was 1998 when the Integra recieved a mild face-lift to its exterior. Acura Integras, like Honda Civics, are seen virtually everywhere, and for a good reason that is. The fact that you ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great Acceleration, and gas mileage
Cons: I never ever want to leave the car

I got my car about a month ago and ever since I have always been trying to find reasons to get in it. I have the RS (base model) but lets put it this way it is a great car with good gas mileage. I haven't got more than 26 & 2/3mpg but that is...

The Civic's Upscale Brother

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good gas mileage, fun to drive, and affordable
Cons: Develops creaks and rattles over time
The Bottom Line: An excellent first car for high school and college students, but you might want to convince yourself to get the GS-R, if you like driving for fun.

The Acura Integra is one of the most reliable and long-lasting cars I have ever driven. I got my Integra LS 5-speed used from a man near me for $7,200. At that price it was a steal! Most other Integras I had looked at around that time were selling...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fun, fast car.
Cons: Headlights wells fill with snow in winter. Noisy at high way speeds.

I bought my Integra from it's original owner. I will be it's last owner. The car drives as though it were a body part. The screams along all the way to the 4000 rpm line at which point the VTEC (variable valve timing and electronic lift...

My Integra experience

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Well-made, few problems, good handling
Cons: Poor turn radius, noisy

I bought an Acura Integra a few years ago and have overall been quite happy with it. The car is well made, on the sporty side and was a great value. If you are looking for a fairly practical, yet sport car, this is a great car for you.

106,000 miles and still hauling.

by lawnlover
Apr 25 '05

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Headlight design, interior dash layout,
Cons: Battery posts vibrate to much and sometimes the car won't start.
The Bottom Line: This car has a classic design that will last the test of time. You will see this car being reborn each time a new owner takes it over.

When I bought this car, new, back in 1994, I never knew how much it would grow on me. The headlights are it's signature design feature. That design change is what got me to buy it and I still love seeing others coming at me on the highway. The friendly ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fast. Reliable. Low cost of ownership. Well constructed.
Cons: Gas mileage (compared to a Civic)
The Bottom Line: A fun car and even practical for people without kids.

I bought this car with 60K on it in 1999. It has 115K now and is a dream. It has after-market shocks that are in need of replacing. I think the clutch needs to be replaced too. The rear window wash does not work and A/C needs to be serviced.

Not really a sporty car

by JYAFT
Jan 18 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Body stle, Reliability
Cons: Weak torque drive, slow acceleration off the line (all models), wind noise, Handling
The Bottom Line: This car is great for teens or for somebody who wants a small car, but when push comes to shove this car definetly lacks punch.

For starters, the integra is known for its reliability. The car drive quite rough and also does not accelerate quickly off the line. I believe this is do to the low torque produced by this weak 4-cylinder. It only produces about 128lbs of...

The best car I have ever had!

by mrxray
May 06 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great handling and just plain fun to drive.
Cons: Power antenna gets stuck in the winter sometimes...but that's it!
The Bottom Line: If you want dependibility and reliability thats what you get in a 1994 Acura Integra RS based on my ownership of this car.

This is the best car I have ever had. For a 1994 car the finish is good and the ride is still fantastic. I only have the RS model without air but it is still my favourite car. If you can find one of these at a good price...buy it! The purchase of this...
