'94 with almost 300,000 miles

by intrepid_man83
Jun 12, 2006 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: POWERFUL, lots of torque, improvement over the 1993 3.3L'S, impressive handling at high speeds
Cons: Front suspension is kinda problematic, AVOID THE 3.5L'S
The Bottom Line: AVOID THE 3.5's!!! Buy a 3.3L with ANY MILEAGE, just check on the owner's history or test it @ a diagnostic shop.

I own a '94 Intrepid with the 3.3L V6 and this thing can take a beating. The car was purchased by my mother in January 1998 from a neurologist out of Chicago and owned it since new. In that time, he put NOTHING but 93 octane Shell gas, and top dollar ... read more

Jun 2, 2002 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Acceleration, looks, ride quality
Cons: the people who do not know how to take care of them
The Bottom Line: The Dodge Intrepid is a very reliable car as long as you bring it to the dealer to get the transmission fluid and filter changed every 20k miles

This 1994 Dodge Intrepid ES that I am writing about belonged to a friend. She bought this car two years ago. It was a silver with leather, key less entry, gas mileage indicator, etc. and had 110,000 miles on it. She fell in love with the 3.5 24valve ... read more

Pros: fast, handles excellent, sleek aerodynamic design, very roomy
Cons: some parts hard to find

About 4 months ago I purchased a 1994 Dodge Intrepid ES from a independent dealer and so far it is the best car I have bought. It has all sorts of bells and whistles, 6 cylinders, and it's a 3.1 engine(I won't settle for less). It had 80,000 miles ... read more

Pros: Paint job could be better
Cons: Roominess, Nice smooth ride

I bought a 1994 Intrepid in 1995. It was used with 50.000 miles on it. It has been the best car I have ever had. Everyone who gets in comments on the roominess and the smooth ride. The only fault I find is the paint job. The panels at the back window ... read more

In a relentless pursuit to find my husband a carpool car that could also pass for a second family car we stumbled upon an Intrepid. We search for vehicles that got good or reasonable gas mileage that could sit six people with belts for each. ... read more

Pros: Very reliable
Cons: None

I have owned my Intrepid for a year and a half. I have never been sorry that I chose this car. At first I was a little leary because it was much bigger than I was used to. (I drove a 1980 Ford Pinto) I was afraid that the gas mileage would be bad, ... read more

The best car of 1994 by far

Jun 8, 2008 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: This car got great highway miles for the gas.
Cons: There are many blindspots with midsize cars.
The Bottom Line: I would buy another Dodge Interpid if I could find one with less than 100,000 miles.

I owned a Dodge Interpid 1994 it was the best car. I thought it was great on gas. It had a good amount of leg room which is a plus for a lot of drivers. What I liked most was when it needed to be fix it never costed me more than a couple hundred bucks if ... read more

Pros: price, reliability, front wheel drive.
Cons: paint
The Bottom Line: great value

Lets see, i bought my intrepid in 2000. It had 60K miles on it which was the main motivator for me buying it. I drove it until early 2004 when my wife decided to shorten it dramatically by running it into the back of a stalled car on the expressway. ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: -roomy -quiet -smooth riding at any speed -seats five confortably -great traveling car
Cons: -transmission problems -a bit hard on gas when racing
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anyone, it is affordable, roomy, looks great and drives great.

The class that the Intrepid is in, is family sedan. There are many reasons for this, such as it is a four door, which seats five with no comfort loss what so ever and may be somewhat of a big car to be sporty. While this is true, it does not have to be ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Roomy, stylish, USA made, easy to repair or fix yourself.
Cons: A/C, Paint.
The Bottom Line: A decent car at a decent price. Big spacious engine bay makes for any minor repairs very easy.

I bought this car 4 years ago for $8000 with 60k miles on it. It now has 128k on the odometer, and has had pretty minor problems since then. First was the A/C compressor, it lasted a whole 3 months from purchase. I have been told this is a fairly comman ... read more

Cons: lights too dim, radio signal poor

I've owned my 1994 Dodge Intrepid for almost a year now. Although I am having some minor problems now, I'm glad I chose this car over the others I looked at. I chose this car because of the way it handles on the road. It has a smooth ride and hugs ... read more

I bought a 1994 Intrepid ES, top of the line right from the showroom floor. I absolutely loved the styling, road handling and the power of the 3.5 engine. All was well for the first 44000 miles. The transmission went out and of course I was 8000 miles ... read more

The Bottom Line: Good car til around 50,000 miles after that the car costs more to keep mechanically running than the car's worth...
