Pros: miles to the gallon, handling Cons: accleration, top speed
My first car was a 1994 Dodge Shadow. All of my friends were paying 5 and 6 thousand dollars for cars that were older and not as reliable. I paid 4 thousand dollars for my shadow. I have put over 10,000 miles on it in the first year I had. I was...

Pros: Handles well and is reliable, reliable, RELIABLE! Cons: Speakers fading, small amount of paint chipping
I purchased my new 2 door red 1994 Dodge Shadow soon after graduating from college. The first thing I did was drive cross-country from Boston to Portland and back. Six years later I still own this car. It has been extremely reliable with very low...

Pros: Cheap Cons: none
Dodge Shadow is a great car, because it is cheap and fast. The Dodge Shadow ES has lots of power. The ES also looks a little sportier. There are many options that came with this car like airbags and 4 wheel ABS. Those make the cars safe too. Dodge...

Pros: Very reliable. Easy on gas. Still looks nice. Interior has held up well. Cons: Bad paint job to begin with. Slow to accelerate. The Bottom Line: It still looks nice and does a good job for commuting and for local driving also. All in all a good car.
I have 94 Shadow SE and love it. Only major problems were the paint and the cam. A couple years after purchase the cam broke for no apparent reason. Had that fixed under warranty and have had no engine troubles since. Shortly before the warranty ...

Pros: Cheap to purchase, good features for the money, reliable 2.2L engine Cons: poor acceleration, styling way out of date The Bottom Line: This is a car you can buy under $3000 that will last you for several years without major repair or maintenance.
My wife and I are the proud owners of a 1994 Dodge Shadow base 4-door. I bought the car a few months back as a 'spare' car. We always keep a third car just in case we have a problem with the main two, and to offer a run-around vehicle for errands and...

Pros: Reliable, runs great, suprisingly peppy, great bargain over expensive imports Cons: Occasional normal expected maintenence The Bottom Line: For anyone seeking to buy a reliable used car, I would definetly recommend the Shadow over any pricey overrated import or domestic. I love this car!
I own a 2 door Green 1994 Dodge Shadow (a.k.a. "The Petemobile"). My parents bought it for me from Enterprise rent-a-car with 40,000 miles on it. I was expecting it to be plagued with problems, given the abuse that its weekly renters would put on it....

Pros: Economical, Great Road Handling, Great Gas mileage, Comfortable Cons: Expensive Low Profile Tires,
Six Years ago I purchase a 1994 Green Dodge Shadow with 3 actual miles on it. It is now the year 2001 and it has long since been paid for. This Christmas season on returning home from my mothers house the car's mileage rolled over the 200,000 mark....

Pros: affordable, inexpensive parts, good fuel economy Cons: body doesn't hold up well (rust in common areas) The Bottom Line: Bargain car, not a performer but not hard on the pocket book either.
To this day my parent's still have a 1994 Dodge Shadow which they use on a daily basis. Albeit, they are going to get a new car very soon. The car has almost 230,000 kms, but the remarkable thing is that for a car this old with this many kms, it doesn't ...

Pros: Reliable, good value Cons: paint problems. The Bottom Line: Reliable and good value. Good starter car.
For a low-end cheapo car, this really isn't a bad one. My parents bought this car new, and it became mine in 1999 when it already had 50k miles on it. I continued to drive it until 2005, and during that entire time I never had any significant problems ...

Pros: Small, easy to handle, inexpensive, easy to find parts Cons: Reputation of timing belt problems, top speed The Bottom Line: I recommend it because it is very economical and reliable.
I actually had to replace the engine in mine, but that was because I bought it used and the previous owner did not take care of it. Other than that, I had nothing but wonderful experiences with this car. Drove from Chicago to San Diego then from there...

Pros: Roomy Front Seats Cons: Small Back Seat The Bottom Line: This is a great car for a young couple or a single adult. There isn't room for a family in this car.
I bought my Dodge in the fall of 1998 from an older woman. The car only had 18,000 miles on it at the time. The car now has close to 70,000 miles on it. I have taken it twice on long road trips for summer vacations. The car is great. I haven't had...

Pros: acceleration, THE SHADOW KNOWS! Cons: Transmission
Ah! How I miss you Shadow! I am 21 and have now owned 4 vehicles and although now I have an almost new 4x4 somehow I still miss the Shadow. I had the V6 ES version with sun roof and spoiler. Although compared to new sleek cars the Shadow would look old there was a certain appeal to it. It had very good ecceleration and could easily fit into small places. Loved that it was a hatchback and could fit almost anything into it. The gas milage was pretty good as well. It was the second Dodge I had owned the previous being a Dodge Dakota Sport--and sadly I do have to say that I believe there was a problem with the transmissions in the automatics from '94. My trucks tranny went haywire at 118k and the Shadow at 75k. Looking back I should have probably rebuilt it and kept driving....

Pros: Very reliable Cons: alternator squeal
I owned this type of car in a four door for 10 years. I bought it when my son was 3 and it was easy to get him in and out of his car seat etc. It was very reliable, even in the coldest of weather. It was comfortable to drive and cheap to repair. The only thing bad I can say about the car is that they are know to have a problem with the alternator bearings so they make a loud squealing sound when running, but if you replace the alternator from the original, it goes away. I would recommend this car without hesitation.
