Jul 16, 2006 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Gas Mileage, Economy
Cons: Parts prices, noise level.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car for anyone that wants to save a lot of money while driving.

Having used by Metro for several years commuting to work through rain, snow, floods, ice, and even occasionally some good weather, I must say I trust it more than my 2000 GMC 4wd to get me there and back. Ride comfort is great for a young guy like ... read more

1994 Geo Metro - Manual Trans, Hatchback, AC, 2-DR

by
Feb 24, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Great mileage, fits in small parking spots
Cons: Unsafe at high speed, engine problems
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for something you won't be driving every day, this is fine. If you're looking for a primary car, avoid the Geo.

We bought our 1994 Geo Metro from some friends of ours. When we got it, it had 65,000 miles on it, and was in immaculate condition. They had kept it perfectly maintained, and it hadn't been "overworked". So it was almost like buying a new car. ... read more

Great car for the price

by
May 11, 2002 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: small and cheap
Cons: small and cheap
The Bottom Line: Good affordable, no-frills transportation, but lightweight parts and body wear out quickly. Excellent winter car.

I like my cars small and simple. All I really ask is reliability, good gas mileage, a small turning radius, and enough room inside to carry a pair of cross-country skis. And I don't like to spend a lot of money on a car. By those criteria, the Geo Metro ... read more

Pros: will last forever, dependable reliable
Cons: large egos won't fit inside; must be carried on roof rack
The Bottom Line: great mileage, long life, a very nice car, especially for commutes

A great small car, one of the best. I've driven the car for nearly 8 years and 166,000 miles with no significant problems. Plain oil change (non-synthetic) every 2500 miles with the orange Fram filters, usually when the valves begin to tick more than ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: 48 miles to the gallon
Cons: small

My daughter bought this metro after driving 5 different cars and even though she liked one better. The price $1700.plus everyone saying it would get 50 miles to the gallon swayed her. This 94 metro has 100,000 miles and is her first car. It is a ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great Value for the price, Snappy enough for one, Sort of cool in a "it's so ugly it's cute" kind of way
Cons: I would bet it's pretty much over should you get into an accident, but hey, you gotta die of something, right?

I started looking at the (then) Geo Metro about 2 years before I bought my '94. I rented one (an automatic) when our old car died the day of the family Christmas party 60 miles away. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to try one of these little bugs ... read more

Okay, I bought a Geo Metro as my first car a couple of years back. I was making $4.65 per hour and driving 125 miles per day roundtrip so I needed something that was cheap, had great gas mileage and new so that I didn't have to spend all of my time in ... read more

Metros have to be the god of cars when it comes to practicality. I can drive for weeks on a tank of gas to and from work...I can haul things in this car that wouldn't fit in others thanks to it's hatch back...it's one of the best cars out there in my ... read more

Pros: Very inexpensive and reliable transportation appliance
Cons: Too light and squarely at Interstate speeds

I bought a 1994 Geo Metro with the 1 liter 3 cylinder engine used back in 1997 for $4000. I've put 45,000 miles on the car and have only had minor repairs (the fuel pump died once, and the AC has had some problems). I average about 46MPG, and it has ... read more

Pros: great gas mileage, compact size

I've always had small compact cars, so my Metro fits right in. I acquired a 1994 Geo Metro 1 year ago for free. It needed a new alternator, so my Dad put in a used one. At the time, I lived about 4 hours away from my parents, so I was driving home ... read more
