Pros: Nice looking, LS model has plenty of standard options. Cons: Poor gas mileage, terrible resale value, TONS of problems! The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a used SUV, steer clear of the Isuzu Trooper. Although it looks sharp, and can be had for cheap, problems abound!
You may be wondering what on earth Epinions needs with the 12th review on an 8 year old car. Heck, I wonder too, but when recently invited to join the I Can't Believe I Bought This Piece Of Junk write-off or ICBIBTPOJ for short, I couldn't...

Pros: Goes Anywhere, Well Built, Plenty of Room, Sound Engine Cons: 4X4 has to be put in while stopped The Bottom Line: I'll keep on, keeping on with my Trooper until it can't keep on any more.
My 1994 Isuzu Trooper has been to Canada. It's seen an ocean, mountains, and desert. All trips starting from my Central Illinois home. My Trooper did a 60 mile round trip 5 or 6 days a week for 6 years. It's still going. 200,000 miles and ...

Pros: Cargo space, comfortable ride for a truck based SUV, can be found quite cheap. Cons: Some reliability problems, very-poor gas mileage, can be rusty if driven in heavily salted areas. The Bottom Line: For those looking at SUVs purely for cargo and passenger hauling capabilities the Trooper is a strong contender, and 4WD is a bonus for northern winters.
----- General Trooper Information ----- The Isuzu Trooper has been produced for over twenty years worldwide, and is respected in many countries for its off-road prowess and reliability. Sadly, it hasnt received such a warm welcome in ...

Pros: Tons of space, Powerful engine, Huge moon roof Cons: Lots of side exposure, Gas guzzler, Hard to inch forward when parking
I just purchased a 1994 Isuzu LS with 70,000 miles on it. I was in need of a new-used ride as my 1988 Camry (http://www.epinions.com/auto-review-7566-3CD7FDE-37A7BE5A-bd2), was at the point where I...

Pros: Lots of cargo space- plus roomy for passengers Cons: Isuzu doesn't make Troopers for 7+ passengers
We were looking at a Jeep Grand Cherokee when we saw the Trooper which had just had the body redesigned by Isuzu. At the time, we knew very little about the Trooper. The price was right and we needed a larger car. We decided to take a chance. ...

Pros: Handling, comfort, size, safety Cons: Gas mileage
When my daughter was born in 1991, the need to have a "safe" car suddenly became a reality. No more driving my parents' hand-me-down cars, no more little bitty tin cans...I needed a REAL car. The first car I bought after she was born was a...

Pros: Comfortable, dependable, a great SUV to drive! Cons: the gas mileage, but it is a SUV
I was looking for a newer (range 1994-1996) car about 3 months ago. I research the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Pathfinders, Monteros, and Troopers. I Bought the Trooper for several reasons. One the crash test was a high safety number, no mechanical defects...

Pros: It WILL get you there. Parking, reliability excellent. Comfortable and roomy. Rustproofing fantastic. Cons: At 150K started to use oil pretty badly. The Bottom Line: Best I ever owned.
I got hit the other day and my '94, 3.2 Liter, 5 speed Trooper is totalled. This was my favorite of all the vehicles I've ever owned. In the winter I kept narrow winter tread tires on it and left it in two wheel drive until the roads got so ...

Pros: Price,Value,Looks.Well made. Cons: Parts prices/availability. Fluid Leaks. The Bottom Line: A really sound value to give serious consideration to when looking for a bigger SUV.
I purchased my trooper with 170,000 miles on it. I usually would not consider a vehicle with so many miles, but, the trooper was a nice clean looking suv.It caught my eye on a local car lot. Some say it looks boxy. I say it looks clean. Straight ...

Pros: Hearty SUV Cons: gas mileage isn't the best
I suppose when my boyfriend calls me a Trooper, I should take it as a complement. If it takes after my SUV, that is. My 1994 Trooper has been nothing but a pleasure to own. Not only does it drive much more smoothly than other SUV's (I test drove...

I own a 94 Trooper s, with a five speed and now 60K miles. I try to take good care of it, regular oil changes (3K) wash and wax once a week when weather agrees. I use it for commuting, DIY building and yard materials, basic stuff and a few road trips....
