Pros: Just about the most dependable thing on four wheels Cons: Minimal room in back seat--this is not a luxury car The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Toyota Corolla for anyone wanting a reliable vehicle. This car will get you from point A to point B with no hassle.
I bought my used 1994 Toyota Corolla DX in early 1996 when my 1986 Olds Cutlass Ciera kept stalling in intersections and I knew that just to keep my Oldsmobile going was going to cost quite a bit. I wanted a vehicle that was dependable. A co-worker had ...

The Bottom Line: Get over it's looks and buy one, because you won't find a cheaper car that drives and handles better than this one. Cheers to Toyota!
Hey, if you are looking for an honest opinion about the 1994-1997 Toyota Corolla, listen to mine. I love my Corolla, and that is in spite of the fact that I had such a terrible experience with my previous Toyota (a 1987 Tercel hatchback) that at one...

I decided to write this article for the Rodiem write-off on the 1994 Toyota Corolla. Why? Well, it was one of the few cars I have spent some time in that I haven't already written about. Cover your mouth when you yawn. I know it's a Toyota, but come...

Best Car We've Ever Owned

Pros: Everything! Dependable. Good for city or hiway. Fantastic engine. Cons: Starter. Seats aren't AS comfortable as newer cars. Trunk a little awkard
We bought this car brande new in 1993. It now has 190K on it and is still going strong! It has always been a dependable ride. We always went in for regular maintenance (oil changes, tune ups etc.) and it has required very little work done it. The only problem we ever had was at about 150K the starter needed replacing.
It is great on the hiway, and to this day has good pick up. It's also been a great commuter car in the city, and is fantastic on gas (presently about 465km/tank city driving).
The only recommendations I would make if you are thinking about purchasing one relate to winter driving. It is a fairly light vehicle, and thus, during the Canadian winter, drives a bit better with a full tank of gas (and you might consider a couple of sandbags in the trunk). We also chose to put winter tires on.
Higher lip on trunk makes it somewhat awkward getting larger items in, but lots of room once they're in there.

Pros: Great fuel economy, 1.8L engine has decent power Cons: Weak suspension
I bought this car used back in 1999 and have had it ever since. I have done minimal repairs to the car and it continues to run like a champ. People are constantly amazed at how many miles I have put on this car and how it still runs well. This car has taken me to New Mexico, Phoenix, Texas, Dallas, and Colorado with no problems. The only problem it the weak suspension, that tend to be easily damaged from regular road use. Besides that, I plan to have my Corolla until it dies and needs to be buried.

Pros: gas mileage, dependability, size Cons: comfort, trunk size
I bought the '94 Toyota Corolla a little over a year ago as my first and could not have asked for a better one for such a good price. The gas mileage is great for this little car, which is needed for the upcoming rise in gas prices. The only problem I've had with the car is that my driver's side seat belt does not retract properly each time. I definitely recommned this car!

Pros: Very reliable, Comfortable, runs well, very safe. Cons: None!
I bought this car in 1996. It had about 30,000 miles on it when I bought it. I was very happy with my Corolla. It had no major problems while I owned it. I kept it until it had over 200,000 mile on it. The only reason why I went for a new car at that point, was because it was time to have major service done (like having the timing belt replaced among other routine things) and I felt that I had the money to buy a new car. While I drove this Corolla, it never stalled, it never broke down, it never didn't start. The only trouble I ever had was when the started went and I had to have it replaced. Even then, before the starter was replaced, I was able to get the car started, it just took a few tries. I would highly recommend this year of the Corolla if you are looking for a reliable used car. The Corolla in general is very reliable, and I had much luck and happiness with my '94 Corolla. I have a new car now, but I miss my old Corolla!
