Pros: With the 4.6L V8 a few hundred bucks, this car could be a monster. Cons: I don't like the 15 inch standard wheels. The Bottom Line: Ford really got it right with this model. Why they went with a two seat model, I will never understand.
I have had my 1995 T-Bird LX with the 4.6L V8 since 1996. I purchased it used with 34,000 miles on the clock. This car has served me so well, that I decided to keep it forever. I am in the process of having it painted to the ... read more

Pros: Lots of power, good gas mileage, sporty sexy looks, inexpensive Cons: consumes some oil The Bottom Line: I recommend the Ford Thunderbird V8 LX to anyone wanting a sexy, sporty cruiser with lots of power and a smooth ride.
I've owned my 1995 Thunderbird LX with the 4.6 V8 for over two years now, and I must say so far I am very pleased with this car and the more I drive it the more I love it. After my ride of 12 years (a 1984 Cutlass Supreme) went to Car Heaven, I decided I ... read more

Pros: stylish, smooth ride, comfortable seats Cons: shuddering problem at 70K miles, transmission got slower with age The Bottom Line: If you like the long sleek style and can live with possible transmission problems, it's worth it.
I bought my 4.6L t-bird in '01 for $8000 and sold it in '05 for $2200. The transmission started shuddering and I didn't want to stick a considerable amount of money in it when it was a second car. I would've loved to have kept it longer, and now wish I ... read more

Pros: V8 power, V6 gas mileage, RWD, perfect combination of smooth ride and sporty handling. Cons: Trunk space The Bottom Line: This is an excellent car for those who are looking for something more distinctive than your average sedan.
I've owned this wonderful car since October, 2005. It is now July, 2006. At the time I was shopping for a well-running, reliable car under $3000. Finding a car under $3000 that's running reliably is a feat in itself, let alone one with lower miles. ... read more

I am 16 and i bought a 1995 Ford Thunderbird LX with a 1998 4.6L V8 and automatic transmission. I love it. My mom owns a 2004 Cadillac CTS and mine could blow hers out of the water (if it werent for the governer at 105!). i have had it for about 2 months ... read more

Pros: Great Value,Pleasing sporty/luxury appearence,Good power/economy balance, Smooth ride Cons: Tight front seats, repair costs, bad weather traction The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle to anyone! I would however get a mechanical inspection done to avoid the usual ford "bugs" that seem to plague this car.
I purchased my 1995 Thunderbird LX in the fall of 1996. At that time it had 38,000 miles on it. I purchased this car after totaling my beloved 94 Ranger Splash. I fell in love with this car the minute i test drove it!. It was quiet, powerful, smooth ... read more

Pros: Very roomy, looks great, lots of value for the money. V8 model is a STEAL. Cons: Rear-wheel drive means careful driving in rain and winter. V6 weak and blows headgaskets. The Bottom Line: Worth it, buy the V8. Also check into Mercury Cougar, same car...slightly more upscale.

Pros: Cushy seats, good outward vision, decent acceleration for a non-sports car Cons: Drum brakes with no ABS do not provide crisp braking The Bottom Line: Great all-around car
Some years ago I bought my used 95 Thunderbird LX with a 4.6 V8 in it. I enjoyed my time of ownership of this car. It is a very good car for daily driving, and also for travel. It is too bad that Ford stopped making this type of Thunderbird or I may have ... read more

Pros: Fast, SEXXXY Cons: Spinning out of control! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! The Bottom Line: If you are a junior in high school yes purchase. If you are someone comuting to work--skip it!
I bought a '95 T-Bird and owned it roughly for 1 year. I found that it was much to out of control for Indiana winters. It was a love/hate relationship really. Do not think people will ever want to sit in your back seat--although the size isn't bad ... read more

Pros: Power, Front Seat Comfort, Driving Position, Looks Cons: Gas Mileage, Brakes The Bottom Line: This car is well-worth the investment, and if you buy it used having under 100k miles, its a great buy.
The folks at Ford made a big mistake when they put the Thunderbird on hiatus in 1997. Not only is the new 'Bird too retro, its the epitome of cost-cutting, as it shares it's chassis with the Jaguar S-Type and Lincoln LS.

Pros: Easiest driving car I've ever owned. Fast, great handling, quiet, comfortable. A Gringo Machine jewel. Cons: Gas mileage a bit sad - but its virtues make up for this one flaw The Bottom Line: I'm much too old to be in love with a car - but I'm madly in love with this four wheeled V8 hussy. Find a good one, you'll enjoy her!
What a great car. I've owned a BMW 1602 European model, 3 different 60's Lotus Elans (raced one in SCCA), a 56 Bentley, a couple of Austin Healy Sprites (raced one), a low mileage 78 Cadillac Eldorado, 98 Mazda 828, etc. etc. The TBird is a better all ... read more

Pros: Plenty of power, V-8, Cheaper insurance rates than sports car class, Good looks. Cons: Difficult to access oil filter. The Bottom Line: Great car! Fun to drive and plenty of power. Minimal amounts spent for maintenance. I'd recommend this car to anyone looking for low cost, power, and cheaper insurance rates.
I bought this car in Sept. 1994 (the first car I purchased myself). My biggest consideration in choosing a car was that it have plenty of power and preferably a V-8, which is getting harder to find. Another consideration was a reasonable price. Since ... read more

Pros: nice-looking car; drives and handles nicely; good gas mileage Cons: Transmission problems; brake problems; Ford dealer cannot find problems and fix them The Bottom Line: Avoid the '95 T-Bird. I would get rid of mine but I feel guilty throwing my unsolvable problem onto somebody else.
We bought a brand new '95 T-bird after owning an '89 which had no problems. The '95 has been a real treat. Within two months of buying it, the transmission had a problem- a sensor went out. The transmission has been a real pain ever since that day. It ... read more

Pros: Very fast car. Handles better than my 300ZX. Sharp looks. Quiet and smooth ride. Cons: Plastic interior around gear shift is cheap looking. The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a reliable car, sure this is it. BUT if you want a fast sucka as well, you gotta own this car! But you can't have mine!
The body is sleek and has great lines. Very aerodynamic. Definitely a car that turns heads.
I love the "growl" sound it makes when it accelerates. It handles like a sports car, but offers the impact protection of a mid-sized vehicle.
