Pros: Incredible gas mileage Turns on a dime Extremely cheap Can fit in any parking spot Cons: Poor acceleration Has a low carrying weight limit - Roughly 600 pounds Hurts self esteem The Bottom Line: BUY IT, unless you can't handle the feeling of inadequacy.
If you have any lack of self confidence or are not completely confident in your manhood, I would strongly recommend you avoid buying this or any Geo Hatchback. However if your manliness (or womanliness) transcends all ridicule, you would be crazy NOT to ... read more

Pros: Great Gas Mileage, Cargo Room, Dependability Cons: 3 Cylinder Performance Confirms Your Worst Fears, Rear Seat Room The Bottom Line: A good little car for around town
As something of an automotive fanatic, I thought I would never find myself behind the wheel of a Geo Metro. Of course, I never thought I would find myself behind the wheels of two different Toyota Corollas or a 77 Volvo either (sigh…). But, alas, ... read more

Pros: Reliable, great mileage, large trunk Cons: Original manufacturer's brakes, expensive dealer parts, low quality cloth seats The Bottom Line: Reliable, great gas mileage, large roomy trunk, easy to self service, good road handling in many driving conditions, seats 4 people and everyone gets a window seat!
I bought this 4 door sedan in 1995 for my wife from a car dealer's new stock. The dealer had ordered a lot of good options with this car. Like air conditioning, power steering, automatic transmission and car mats. I enjoy driving it and for a smaller car ... read more

Pros: good gas mileage Cons: Everything about this car.
Don't waste your money on a throw away car! In Feb. of 1996 my grandparents made me trade in my 1966 Mustang and (supposably) get a reliable car. During the first week the Locktronics on it broke and I had to learn to hot wire my car because I was on ... read more

Pros: Very reliable no matter how you treat it Cons: No leg room in the back seat
Late 1995 I needed a new car. The only one I could afford at the time was a leftover 1995 Geo Metro Hatchback. At the time I was pretty disappointed. All my friends made fun of me, "Where's the big key to wind it up" and "How many ... read more

Pros: Great Engine Performance, High MPG Cons: Hard to Find Some Parts Except Through Dealership, Does not Retain Value
My best friend and I drove her 1995 Geo Metro to our 20 year high school class reunion 5 years ago and really had a lot of people staring at us! That was because of all of the people, prestigious or not, WE were the only ones driving up in a new ... read more

Pros: Gas Milage Cons: It killed my friend
When you look at the Geo Metro it's one of the smallest cars on the road. When you look at the Geo Metro you think how could that hold up in an accident. How? It can't. Proof of that was a couple of days ago when my friend was killed in a car ... read more

Pros: Great commuter car Cons: It only gets 40 miles per gallon.
My wife and I decided this year ('99) that I needed a commuter car. The GMC Safari would be for her and our 3 kids. So I finally found a used 1995 purple Metro hatchback with 42,000 miles on it for $4200. I had read about this car and found the gas ... read more

Pros: cheap on gas, cheap on maintenance, reliable Cons: unsafe, not a luxury vehicle
I bought this vehicle because it is small, inexpensive to maintain, and compact. The insurance on these cars is incredibly cheap. They use so little gas, so are perfect for traveling and commuting. Considering the size of the vehicle, they seat plenty ... read more

Pros: great gas mileage, reliable Cons: probably not safe in major accidents, poor leg room
I bought my Geo Metro new in 1995 mostly due to its price which was 6999.00. It was a stripped down model, no air, no radio.
Since I bought the car, I have had no mechanical problems whatsoever. It is a fairly quiet, smooth running car for being so ... read more

Pros: Great gas mileage Great size for manipulation nice looking car body and interior hold up well Cons: I have none to report.
I bought a new Geo Metro Sedan in 1995 against the advice of the dealer who sold it to me. He said, "As long as you keep cars, (previosly 15 years and 9 years) you would probably want to go up at least a step from the Metro."

Pros: gas mileage. I get 40 MPG Cons: SLOW! No pickup and top speed of about 80 to 90 depending on the hill
This was the worst car I have ever been in. The car is very slow and can't even get to top speed on a gentle incline.

Pros: See above
The Geo is probably the best car to wear the Chevy emblem Cons: The dash board faded unevenly over the last 10 years!
I bought mine new and immediately removed the back seat changing that area into large flat carpeted surface for my dog kennel, occasional camping, and Costco runs. I knew this was no luxury car when I bought it, so was not disappointed in its seating
