Pros: Solid Build, Classic Jeep Styling, Virtually Indestructible Cons: Poor gas mileage The Bottom Line: A good looking, practical small SUV. If you can find a low mileage used Cherokee, buy it!
Within the next week or two the odometer of my beloved 1995 Jeep Cherokee County will register 250,000 miles. Yes, a quarter million miles, over 10 times the circumference of the planet Earth! It has been driven hard, long and often by my wife ...

Pros: Good gas mileage, strong engine (4.0), safe Cons: Handling at higher speeds, little space in rear seats The Bottom Line: Get one ! (See Summary)
Why did I buy it ?
I have had several Jeeps before and always loved them. I have had two CJ's and one YJ before. A few months ago, I decided it was time for something more comfortable for my daily commute on the Oklahoma streets. If you don't...

Pros: Reliable, Comfortable, Easy maintenance Cons: Stereo, extra perks not there
For a long time Jeep has been known as one of the best SUVs for the money. When I got my first car, I had been hoping for a Jeep Cherokee. When I went out to the garage one night, and there was a Green 95 Cherokee Sport sitting in there, I almost fell...

Pros: Price, Color, Appearance Cons: Not a 4 wheel drive
We purchased our 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee (not a 4 wheel drive) 1 1/2 years ago. We chose this Jeep for several reasons - the main one being the feedback we had received from several friends who also own Jeeps.
We were looking for a 4 door...

Pros: Great power. Super reliable. Easy to work on, but you'll seldom need to. Cons: Door hinges coming loose. Low gas mileage. Road noise a little high. The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone wanting something big enough to be useful, small enough to park, and reliable enough to count on.
My particular version is a 4x4, but I've never really given it a healthy off-road test. You'll have to look at other reviews for any info on that.
As I write this, it is December 2002, and I've owned my Jeep for about a year. Mine has over...

Pros: No extraordinary maintenance Cons: Loose steering, dated interior, stiff ride
I own two Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredos. One 95 (wife's) and a 96 (mine). Both have the V-6 4.0L engine, 2WD, four doors. One would think that one year difference in the same model wouldn't warrant such a change in opinion of these two cars. However...

Pros: Price, 4wd, dependable Cons: rattles a lot while driving, lacks acceleration with the 4 cylinder
The first new vehicle I ever purchased was a 1995 Jeep Cherokee and yes I still own it. For myself, at the time, it was perfect, I was 23, fresh out of college and not very liquid. I wanted an SUV so I could drive on the beach and I wanted...

Pros: Can't say much Cons: Read my article The Bottom Line: Don't buy unless you have money to burn, and you like to hang out at repair shops to learn about engine.
Once I was employed after I had gotten out of college, I visited a dealer of my dream car. My intention was only window shopping. However, I ended up driving a '95 Grand Cherokee Limited home. The SUV is a 4.0L, I-6, 2WD. I leased the vehicle for...

Pros: durable and reliable Cons: did not buy power options-personal choice
This Jeep was purchased new in 1995. It was one of the best purchases every made. This vehicle has performed like a charm for 5 years and is still going strong. It is still on the original set of tires and has not given any trouble. Only one time a wire...

Pros: Sharp looks, car-like ride, reasonable gas mileage, reliable Cons: Purchase price; Repair costs are high if (when) needed The Bottom Line: Nice vehicle... costly repairs. Buy '95 model at 80% retail. Transmission known problem area for '95. Models improve, starting in '97. Consider warranty. Don't run fuel low!
For those unfamiliar with the Grand Cherokee, it's the shapely but expensive sister to the Cherokee. Of course, it's price is in line with some of it's larger competitors. The question is, "Is it worth the money?" for this less roomy SUV. My reply is, ...

Pros: Acceleration, handling, foul weather driving. Cons: Braking, seat belts.
I was looking for a good affordable used vehicle that was capable of carrying at least a half ton of cargo, and being towed behind a motorhome without special modifications. My 95 Cherokee Sport has proven to be a good choice. It has driven 12,000...

Pros: All Wheel Drive Cons: Reliability
I bought the car because I thought it looked nice. It had all the options plus a powerful V8 engine. What's not to love? After a couple of weeks, the "newness" wore off and I started to notice some irritating things. For starters, the air...
